So I wake up this morning and the sun still shines. We won...

a few and lost a few, just as God intendedv, and we won more than we lost.

Some races can't be ended yet, and a few have the Trumpoholic refusal to believe and concede, but overall Democracy has prevailed and we are a bit further from being the one party state of Nazism or Communism.

Personally, I am thrilled that Gov Hochul held on. Much is being made of her being the first woman being elected Governor, but I am perfectly that she got elected because she is damn good at the job, and, if we're lucky, sends Zeldin to a hell of his own making.

Zeldin, true to his breed, has refused to concede... Yet.

I was sorry to see that his old district will not be won by the estimable Bridget Fleming, but she isn't going away and just proves once again that Democracy means you win some and you lose some.

PA, GA, and some others keep the hopes up.

... watching results do not change too much unless early results makes voters who hadn't made it to the polls say "what the heck, my vote won't count" and stay home.

Win or lose, the fight will not be over.

Still it was closer than I would have liked. I hope this is the end of Z but who knows. Very disappointing about BF, but honestly it is not surprising at all to me. And we lost at least two house seats. Hochul not winning was the biggest worry to me in NY, but losing the house will be very bad if it happens.

and James too. I am angry though about the house seat for my district. I am surrounded by red necks and I knew the puke would probably win anyway, but the Democratic nominee didn't even try. No ads, no phone calls, no canvassing, no signs, no letters. Why bother running at all, if you're going to put 0 time and effort in to even make a decent showing? I volunteered for Hochul when she ran for our district several years ago. She didn't win but she didn’t get blown away either, and at least she got the Democratic message out there.

Who is your rep/ district? 3 & 4 were unexpected losses I think. BF did good campaigning in our district, but I knew she would most likely lose anyway.

. Steven Holden was the Democrat who lost. It was a redistricted seat that placed the Finger Lakes region all in to one district. Formerly we were represented by Chris Jacobs (R). He voted pro Trump consistently, but suprisingly came out strongly for banning assault weapons, after the mass shooting at the Buffalo supermarket.

He was informed by GOP leaders to not even try running again because they would no longer be supporting him. They really don't allow anyone or anything to go against their party line.

I wish the Democratic candidates would try harder in this area. At least Hochul won and so did Letitia James. I know James will continue to go after Trump. I really admire her.

It is a lost cause here now. I know my area very well and I know what it is like here. Since Tim Bishop was ousted by the tea party I think it really has become a lost cause and now it’s getting worse. The whole government is corrupt here, the local government, and it’s mostly Republican. We have the worst roads in the country probably the number & size of the potholes has become a nonstop joke. They never repair of the roads properly they just keep patching them with a bunch of garbage which gets worse and worse.

To be honest I did not care for James’ ousting of Cuomo. However if she has any success against dump I will be very happy and my hats off to her. But I am not optimistic about dump ever being held accountable for anything anymore. I don’t think I ever was, but let’s hope they all prove me wrong. You see he murdered my father, he was one of the people responsible for that, and nothing could ever bring my father back no matter what happens to dump. I really wish we had never come here from Canada now. My father served this country for 40 years and this is what they did to him. It will never be forgiven. I am more invested in accountability for that.

Really?

You think some sort of sky wizard put its thumb on the scales of these elections in this one country on this one little planet amongst trillions in a 14-billion-year-old universe?

Or maybe you were just using an old adage.
