Where racism works. And turnout in Milwaukee doesn't appear to have been enough to offset that, although it does look better than previous non-presidential elections. Obama probably helped, but it wasn't enough for Barnes (but it probably saved Evers, Kaul, and maybe LaFollette).

Hopefully LaFollette can make up the 180 vote deficit - would suck if the Republicans have their hands in the election machinery that the Secretary of State oversees.

Whereas the Twin City suburbs are blue or trending blue.

The dynamic is a bit different. I suspect it has to do with more people in TC suburbs having college degrees.

Wed Nov 9, 2022, 12:48 PM
Nov 2022

Especially in these really close races, and still votes to be counted yet. That's what rethugs would be doing. We continue to be polite and non-combative. What does it get us?

You better believe that rethugs are going to be filing lawsuits and demanding recounts on every race they lost. And here we are, with our candidates giving concession speeches, being seen as losers--not good sports, not the sane adults.

With our very democracy on the line, we should be fighting harder, not playing nice.

I'm saying, don't go down with the ship. In these races that are within one point--do not concede. Count every vote.

I'm contemplating the horror of a rethuglican House. And the Senate coming down to a runoff in Georgia. While we are saying--Oh well, guess we lost.

My point was that people assumed Roe v Wade was safe, and took it for granted that it would remain intact, even though the GOP has been targeting it for years. I think they assume SS is safe. Also wrong.
