I Think That Trump Will Be Indicted, By DOJ.

I also have not dismissed the idea that after Trump is convicted, prosecutors will ask for no jail time.

Do not dismiss that possibility.

4. I do not expect a Trump trial to occur before 2025,

based on Letitia James taking 3 years, and E. Jean Carroll taking 3 years.

Why do you think I have been yelling that time matters in indicting Trump? I get responses about ducks in a row.

He’ll never stand trial. I’d love to see it, but that guy… not long for this world, so delay till dead is an option.

2. I don't expect that the courts would give an old rich white guy with no priors any time anyway.

Particularly when the old rich white criminal was the President as well.

Home confinement maybe, fine the crap out of him sure.

he profited by exposing top-secret info to a foreign government, then MAYBE he gets 30 days or something like that.

I'd expect probation, fine, perhaps passport revocation.

Come to think of it, if THAT happened ... he'd have a hard time being POTUS wouldn't he?

5. Just getting Trump before grand jury would take time.

It wouldn't take real long to indict him but no way in hell that Trump goes to trial before 2025.

...I doubt that he would ever be sentenced to any time.

A more likely outcome would be that a jury would find him guilty of "crimes" but the penalties would not be imprisonment.

It would be something more like, "prohibits from running for public office again and prohibited from any involvement in political campaigns". He might be sentenced to an "ankle bracelet" for several months and no foreign travel. All political PACs would be ended and he would have to turn over all funds to his Party, the GOP.

No one would be happy.

No jail time, but he pleads guilty to one charge that disqualifies him from running again.
