Funny scenario

Republicans win the House 218-217…but McCarthy can’t get enough votes to become speaker…:McCarthy resigns his seat….because if he won’t become speaker then why would he even want to remain in the House….any other position would be a demotion for him…:the house is 217-217 and Newsome makes the special election way out

1. Who else wants to be speaker though?

That's a group of people I don't want to "manage". They will try to squeeze as much as they each individually want out of McCarthy but then will eventually vote for him because no one else wants that job, especially with that slim a margin.

6. MTG has said she is going to have this job.

She has been working relentlessly for it and also the VP slot with Trump.

Ambition is her middle name.

2. I don't understand why McCarthy is in a leadership position to begin with

He has zero leadership skills, no charisma, not very bright, obviously prejudiced. The man is zero. He is sucking up to Trump his only skill? It’s hard to believe the Republican Party has ousted it’s only intelligent members. Who wants to be the Speaker of this mess indeed. Especially since it looks like the Hunter Biden investigations aren’t particularly going to be any fun

7. Yes this makes him perfectly suited to just read his daily marching orders.

Like Walker would be in the senate.

8. I'm not too sure Walker would even be able to read and follow Party orders

Does he know he actually has to show up every day in the Senate in order to vote, I wonder

9. As a football star, Walker is well used to having a minder. And listening to the "coach."

University football players are assigned minders who keep them on the straight and narrow.

A large university football team can rake in millions of dollars a year (for example last year the
Ohio State football team brought in $107 million, that is just in one year.) They are not about
to have this jeopardized by football players doing something stupid. The minder is called a "tutor"
or "assistant."

Universities do the same thing with brilliant professors who are bringing in a lot of money or publicity to a college.
They have minders as well. Called "assistants" who basically make sure the professor has his zipper zipped after he comes out of the bathroom kind of thing. And doesn't hit on the students or put his foot in his mouth. The assistants literally follow the professor around all day at work.

I personally am aware of this because when I was in graduate school at a large university, a number of my fellow students earned money working as "tutors" and "assistants" to the football players. Or to professors.
And of course would roll their eyes about taking the job.

Walker is also very used to following the orders of his coach.

Walker will be told McConnell is his coach, he must follow orders.
Then he was be assigned a minder who gets him where he needs to be each day and does what he is supposed to do.

McConnell has total control over much more intelligent and sophisticated senators.
Walker should be easy for him.

10. Still it will be interesting when a Capitol Hill reporter comes up in the hall

As he is moving from the committee room to the floor, and sticks a microphone in his face and ask him if he’s ever paid for an abortion. It’s hard to protect US senators from the press.

11. 100% certain McConnell will protect Walker as long as Walker does as he is told.

McConnell is a genius at manipulating his senators, other members of congress, other politicians including presidents.
And the press.

He does it by kicking or kissing people into compliance.

Walker will be given an intense PR briefing about what he can and cannot do.
(Same as when he was a football star, no difference.)

Walker will be given quite a few assistants who tell him what to say and do everyday.
(Just like when he was a famous football star.)

And keep him away from the press. The assistants will rehearse with him repeatedly
what to say to press questions.

McConnell may even threaten the press who hang around the senate.

If Walker crosses McConnell then all bets are off.

13. McConnell hates Trump and will make it clear to Walker there is only one "coach."

McConnell will certainly lay out the rules for Walker in words of one syllable.

McConnell will dangle all kinds of perks, rewards, protections to Walker as long as he does what he is told.

Protection and perks will be withdrawn for non compliance.

Or even worse, hell will rain down on Walker if he is strays too far from what McConnell wants.

Phone calls from Trump will be on the No No List.

Walker will understand that McConnell is the coach of the team and what he says goes.

Although I think a major cage match between McConnell and Trump would be good
