You stood up like a real leader that night. I believe that debate won you some new voters over to your side.

and they did un-mercifully.

That takes commitment and courage, something the RWers don't have.

what could possibly have driven the local 'falling-fast-to-the-right' rag, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, to endorse Dr. Ooz for the Senate seat?
My GAWD, they blew it BIG TIME!!!!

I, too, thought it took guts to go ahead with the debate bc he likely knew it would not go his way while still recovering from an aural-processing deficit, something that is made worse when you're under stress and/or anxiety. His campaign said Fetterman did take advantage and went through debate practice runs. Reportedly, he did very well during those sessions. But I'm sure he knew Oz and his team were gunning for him, looking for any and all weakness. And, of course, they were hoping they could weaponize any gaffe, that a weak Fetterman performance would turn around their own flailing campaign.

For me, the most dramatic moment was when the moderator queried about the transparency issue, why voters should believe Fetterman had been sufficiently transparent about his stroke and fitness.

Fetterman responded, Because I'm here. Because I showed up.

Simple, succinct and yes, brave.

His supporters thought so, too.

I wish there was a way to let Oz know how much he is now hated for the things he said about Fetterman post-debate. It was despicable and incredibly cruel. The Republicans were even more cruel than usual on this one. Bunch of sadists.

He stood up to the whole Republican establishment, some of the Democratic establishment, the Trump goons, and the media to win this race. So satisfying!

If I were advising Fetterman, I would have advised him not to debate, debating isn't his strong suit regardless.

I admit I was wrong, Fetterman showed everyone his courage, what you see with Big John is what you get.

He showed courage in debating and he was honest from the outset that he might have some times of struggle as the debate went on. And he did. And he looked human. And brave. And like someone who was always empathetic, but who now knows what it is liked to get knocked down and have to get back up.

The day after the debate I wrote something on DU to the effect of it was my belief that most Americans have experienced struggles, either with ourselves, or parents, siblings, children or other loved ones. We know the grit it takes to recover from some knocks. And how those experiences shape character.

My hope was that the people of PA would see a person who is genuine and brave and humble. Quite a contrast with his opponent. And they would know in their heart's which was the right choice.

Sometimes people don't let us down.

Fetterman is a real man of the people. Many in both parties lack a backbone. Fetterman is a quality guy and one that I would trust 100%.

Just because of a physical disability, it does not mean that there is something lacking in one's intelligence!
