Because if you did the math and know the county and outstanding votes, you know CCM is likely to lead by thousands of votes when all votes are counted.

... that makes Warnocks runoff easier. The repubs won't be fighting for control of the senate, and people who might have a low opinion of walker, but would vote for him in order to control the senate might stay home.
