If we manage to hold the house, then yes, having one vote to spare would be awesome.

But if republicans won the house, which seems likely, then we're not passing meaningful legislation anyway, at least not the kind of stuff where we could really have a problem getting manchin's vote.

So we're down to senate-only stuff like confirmations, and manchin hasn't been overly difficult on those.

Manchin's power was from being the deciding vote for democratic legislation. If the house is going to kill all that, then manchin would no longer have an special power.
