He will announce he is running for president. Then he will try to destroy Desantis, Moscow Mitch and McCarthy. He will attempt to put in place the craziest fuckers he can find in leadership positions of the GOP. It will not go well.
Stay tuned, this is going to be a train wreck.

(3,333 posts)When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.

(6,679 posts)He has that much power any longer. His party sees his vulnerability and will ignore his rants. The MAGAs are dwindling. Lots of noise but not much power methinks.

(10,252 posts)may not even when the nomination. De Santis will emphasize what a loser a Trump ticket would be with the message, "just look at what happened to Trump candidates in the last election. Do you want that again in 2024?" I think De Santis will be their nominee.
And McCarthy may get replaced with a crazy incompetent Gym Jordan-type MAGAT. I can't see McConnell getting detroned. He controls too much campaign money.

(3,916 posts)of Raskolnikov, I would eschew this presidential race. If the House holds, then the dems would build on their accomplishments and have a stronger case to maintain that momentum.
Should the House fold, then the mayhem to follow would not be a a justification for the repubs to continue. How could he sell a change is coming?
Furthermore, trump has an allegiance that does not yet, think well of DeSantis, outside of Florida.
trump has complications that will muddy the conversations for some time. Republicans will not look good for their previous support.
Will Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, or another throw in their hat. Complexities, I would not want to broach.
Think he will sit on the sidelines.

(13,272 posts)They want to get rid of him but know it will split the party if they do because he has so many followers. Their big thing is how to cut him off but not lose his people? I bet they are hoping he gets indicted, who knows maybe even secretly helping.
