I think that's the best strategy, but I'm not a party machine insider.

His name escapes me now, but I know there was a Representative or a state pol who would suffice. He was brought up as a possibility over the last year or so.

Hard to imagine a Democrat who could be worse than Kyrsty.

Marine Veteran, smart, Spanish speaking. His ex wife is mayor of Phoenix.

No question that if he runs he will clear the field against here.

Sinema has to be stunned by D sweep. Expect her to start sponsoring progressive legislation. Guessing she will start with Dreamers legislation.

I don’t think he can win statewide. His district is the bluest in the state, and he’ll need to move to the center for the state. Of course if the Rs put up another nut job….

He’s already in Congress, so he has a record to run on - and he replaced Sinema in the House. But for some reason Phoenix mayors have trouble in statewide elections. You’d think that would be a stepping stone to the governorship, but it isn’t.

So that might hamper Stanton running for Senate. I think he’d be good though. Fontes would as well, but I think he’s probably eyeing governor next.

soon...which means she will be primaried. We haven't forgotten how many times she torpedoed the two Dem infrastructure bills, ultimately resulting in one not passing and the other drastically reduced in size.
