Inspired by the FR claims about the Planned Parenthood page, I've noticed there have been quite a few "health specialists" going around trying to claim that masturbation is unhealthy. Often times, they are not doctors, but just 'some guy in the health industry.' The logic goes thus: When you have an orgasm, this makes you uninterested in your partner, and toxifies your system with dopamine.

Of course you get dopamine released all the time...when you smell food, when you sip coffee, when you exercise, etc. If dopamine is so toxic, then we should be spending our lives in sensory deprivation chambers.

This all goes back to that myth of sexual addiction - the new spin on the old "hairy palms" canard.

I have heard mormon advice to tie the favored hand to the bedpost (if you're right handed, you'd presumably need to keep your R hand unavailable) to keep you safe from yourself at night.
