We won't have the control of the agenda, like simply getting a bill on the floor. That is in the hands of the GOP, assuming they win.

Committees, rules, schedule…. If they want to do nothing, than they do nothing. Appropriations bills start in the house so get ready for shutdowns.

One of the rules the republicans want to put in place is that no bill comes to the floor without the ability to pass with only Republican votes. The old Hastert rule

This is why the "holding their feet to the fire" thing does not work. When they need more Dems to do what we want, there are always people who will act as if Republicans taking over will punish Dems. When it only punishes the People.

Only Senators needed. That's how the American Rescue Plan and I think the Inflation Reduction Act passed.
