Being midterm, it wasn't a Blue Tsunami, but it definitely was a Blue Wave

However, elections are now 24/7/365. Can't lose focus and can't let the Democratic coalition in Congress fracture. Blue Dogs and Yellow Dogs must keep the eye on the prize.

And we must force the end of the filibuster in the Senate.

2. I predicted 3-5 pickup in the Senate and break even in the House

I over-estimated the intelligence of voters in OH, NC, and WI.

Apparently they love their crooks as much as the people here in China love their brutal, tyrannical dictators.

It was a wave. If we got two more pickups in the Senate and did the same, it would be a Blue Tsunami.

There are two major advantages to the Democrats getting 51 seats.

1. The Democrats will have majorities in all committees and can issue subpoenas. Currently each Senate committee have an equal number of republicans and democrats on the committee. One cannot issue a subpoena with the vote of the majority of a committee which is why the senate cannot do any major investigations.

2. Speed up nomination confirmation process for judges. Since there are an equal number of republicans and Democrats on the judiciary committee, the vote on a good number of judicial nominees have been ties and had to go to the full senate to break the tie. That is one reason why VP Harris has casted so many tie breaker votes.

Having 51 senators is a big deal.
