Chief Twitter Troll Elon Musk just tweeted a snide, juvenile response to Ed Markey - UPDATE

Senator Markey's tweet on the 11th - apparently it took Musk two days to figure out a response - then Musk's idiotic comment, then Markey's reply - which I'm editing to add thanks to leftstreet's reply 7 below.

Musk's response:

Markey:

A @washingtonpost reporter was able to create a verified account impersonating me—I’m asking for answers from @elonmusk who is putting profits over people and his debt over stopping disinformation. Twitter must explain how this happened and how to prevent it from happening again.

Musk:

Perhaps it is because your real account sounds like a parody?

EDITING to add Markey's reply to Musk (again, thanks to leftstreet, reply 7 below):

One of your companies is under an FTC consent decree. Auto safety watchdog NHTSA is investigating another for killing people. And you’re spending your time picking fights online. Fix your companies. Or Congress will.

intent to do harm, at least via Twitter.

Btw, I don't believe he bought Twitter planning to destroy it. I think he believed he could use it as a tool to promote his other companies (which he's been doing with his tweets), to promote RW politics, to keep himself the center of attention, and to strike back at the people he thinks are too critical of him and his companies and beliefs.

And he does seem to have grandiose plans to make Twitter a social media platform that will replace other major social media platforms. Making Musk king of his own online world.

But he's making a complete mess of it, showing how incompetent and thughtless he can be, and worsening his image instead of improving it.

And he's under scrutiny not only from our government but from other governments around the world.

He was talking shit about Elizabeth Warren the other day who would grill him like a hot dog on the Fourth of July if she ever got hold of him.
I'm reminded of her takedown of John Stumpf, the CEO of Wells Fargo. Musk was probably still in high school when that happened.

Although Musk, 51, seemingly didn't dress up as a specific character for the night, E! News reported he arrived in what appeared to be a costume from a local costume shop in New York City. The outlet reported that the costume is called the "Devil's Champion—Leather Armor Set," which is $1,000 to rent or $7,500 to purchase.

So arrogant that he makes fun of a US Senator, someone that can cause profound effects on his businesses.

He doesn't seem to take it seriously enough. He seems to be like a teenager having fun trolling on a gaming forum. He is not operating like his livelihood is at stake.

So successful that he operates as if he is an emperor that doesn't need to much temper his ideas at the suggestion or criticisms of the experts, as you say.
