There are two major advantages to the Democrats getting 51 seats.

1. The Democrats will have majorities in all committees and can issue subpoenas. Currently each Senate committee have an equal number of republicans and democrats on the committee. One cannot issue a subpoena with the vote of the majority of a committee which is why the senate cannot do any major investigations.

2. Speed up nomination confirmation process for judges. Since there are an equal number of republicans and Democrats on the judiciary committee, the vote on a good number of judicial nominees have been ties and had to go to the full senate to break the tie. That is one reason why VP Harris has casted so many tie breaker votes.

Having 51 senators is a big deal.

Georgia Democrats to bring out the turnout to make i happen - they did it two years agon and it was I suspect harder then.

ALso, as Heather Cox Richardson points out, the fact that Senate control is no longer dependent on him may depress Republican turnout (not that I'. counting on that, but it's possible.)

But a little extra campaign money won't hurt either. I sent a little (and I DO mean a LITTLE.) I also gather he has some very classy merch ...

Give to the Warnock campaign, chip in time, do what ever you can do.

This is a 6 year term. 2024 does not line up well for the Democrats. A Warnock win is important both for the countries short term prospects and its long term prospects.

Don't sit back just because we crossed a minimum threshold for the short term. So much is still at stake, and you all can make a difference!
