The CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Sunday criticized Dave Chappelle over the weekend after the comedian delivered a monologue on Saturday Night Live poking fun at Jewish people.
Jonathan Greenblatt tweeted we shouldnt expect Dave Chappelle to serve as societys moral compass but said it was disturbing for SNL to not just normalize but popularize antisemitism.
Why are Jewish sensitivities denied or diminished at almost every turn? Greenblatt wrote on his personal Twitter account. Why does our trauma trigger applause?
Chappelle appeared on SNL over the weekend for a stand-up monologue that covered multiple trending topics, including recent antisemitic comments from Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West.

(56,108 posts)Hot off his continual attacks on the trans community, the gay community, and even some anti-Semitic shit in his last show that was "overlooked" because of the rank and hardcore hate of trans people, he should have never been invited.
Of course, I am sure we will have defenders of his actions and the excuse makers come along to "'splain'" to the Jews in the same way they did with the trans and gay community when he attacked us.

(14,180 posts)He is a gold-plated asshole who needs to just go away. No use for the man, and if this is the best SNL can do for a host, maybe its time they pack it in as well.

(10,412 posts)Chappelle has a specific voice. In his way he mocked Kanye. He also wants to be able to speak without the restraints of political correctness. I think he walked that fine line very well..
