I don't like weddings because I always feel like I'm dancing on s grave. But I have to say her dress was really pretty.

(20,896 posts)Not crazy about the v shape of the sequin design. Those sleeves were horrid.
Now Marla and Ivanka on the other hand, chose their colors wisely.
Irish_Dem
(81,257 posts)Marla and Ivanka did a very nice job.
Did you read that Ivanka's dress was quite similar to Princess Grace Kelly's dress worn in To Catch A Thief?
Designed by Edith Head.
Yes there was so much wrong with Lara Trump's dress. Yes she looked so washed out in that color.
The sleeves were a disaster in the group photo. Yes the V shape in the transparent design was very odd.
Melania's dress was underwhelming.
tishaLA
(14,775 posts)circa 1975. Ivanka's was beautiful, but it was basically a rehash of a dress Grace Kelly wore in, believe it or not, "To Catch a Thief" (probably by Edith Head I guess)

(81,257 posts)I agree, Ivanka looked lovely, but the dress was was underwhelming for what we know she must have paid for it.

(18,613 posts)Around 1999 I was shopping on eBay for my soon to be wife... and saw what I thought was perfect for her.
There was a seller that had several pieces of of top notch Chanel summer dresses that all had corresponding pics from a fashion show.
So I grabbed several pieces... pricey at around 400-500$ each.
Wife wore them a few times, whatever.
Fast forward during C19 my wife took a spare room in the house and started her own Poshmark business. Starts listing her old clothes along with other stuff she'd buy...
Turns out in 2020 those Chanel runway dresses were worth 4000-7000 EACH!!!

(1,654 posts)With the strapless look for brides being the rage, a few years ago a friend of mine was commented on a relative's wedding album that all the people in the wedding party looked like they were on the runway for the Academy Awards.
Considering who this family was, I thought most of them were very tasteful.
I did notice that it looked like Ivanka's dress color was very close to Dr. Jill Biden's favorite shade of blue.

Wealthy, famous women on official and public duties with poorly tailored outfits,

(54,405 posts)The relationship between Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun is just as twisted as anything else about the Nazi leader. Hitler and Braun were 23 years apart in age and began a relationship when she was only 17, which lasted until their deaths by suicide at the end of World War II. Their entire relationship was strange - Hitler wanted to portray a pure image of being married to Germany and shunned Eva when they were in public - and their wedding was no exception.
Braun followed Hitler loyally for about 16 years, despite him showing greater affection for his dog, Blondi (on whom he tested his poison before using it on himself). In a perversion of the classic Romeo and Juliet love story, the newlyweds killed themselves the day after their wedding ceremony and were burned in their bunker, according to Hitler's last request.
They Met When She Was 17 And He Was 40
Eva Braun was a 17-year-old photographer's assistant when she became acquainted with Adolf Hitler. Braun had recently left convent school and was working for Hitler's official photographer. In 1929, the two went on a date to the opera. Shortly after their first date, Braun became Hitler's mistress, after his prior mistress allegedly took her own life.

Braun Wasn't Allowed To Show Hitler Affection In Public Because He Wanted His Female Followers To Find Him Appealing
Braun was by Hitler's side for 16 years technically. Hitler was obsessed with crafting an image of someone married to his country, and couldn't let something like a loving relationship interfere. He also wanted to remain attractive to his female followers. Braun wasn't allowed to show Hitler any affection in public, and most Germans didn't even know she existed. Hitler wouldn't let photos of her be published. Hitler would even go so far as to ignore her while in public, only interacting with her to give her an envelope of money at the end of the night. Even after Braun moved into the Berlin Chancellery, she was forced to use the back door so no one saw her. Hitler's chauffeur called her "the unhappiest woman in Germany."

Hitler Investigated Braun's Family To Make Sure She Was 'Pure'................

(7,964 posts)Depraved fits in so many ways. From what I've read Herr Hitler had some depraved sexual proclivities. Eva was just a toy.

(1,107 posts)but what is it about people who just go about their business, live more or less fulfilling lives, that causes them to be the least bit interested in what the "rich and famous" are wearing, vacationing, or what homes they live in.
Most of these people have either inherited their fortune or made it off the backs of people like us. Just imagine the ego blow to them if all of us simply stopped paying them any attention. No adulation, admiration, fawning, or sycophantly, we simply all stopped watching shows about them, buying magazines about them or attempted to emulate them.
What is it about these people that causes any of you to be the least interested in their activities?

It is an exquisite dress.
The sleeves on the silver dress are definitely strange. I saw a photo of her with her hands up about waist height, elbows bent and those sleeves are slit so when she raised her arms, they draped from the elbows. Totally different look. She should have done the photo with out her hands straight down.

In fact, I think it's kind of tacky. And KG looks like she's dressed for a funeral rather than a wedding.
Tiffany looks great, though. Gorgeous dress, and her makeup artist gets raves from me. T. usually wears so much heavy eyeliner on both upper and lower lids that she looks like a raccoon. I hope she decides to stick with this look, because it's a huge improvement.

ShazzieB
(22,582 posts)Her father is, of course, but that that doesn't automatically make her one. I don't think she's in on the grift, either. I don't think she's in on much, tbh. She's not part of the family business, and she wasn't part of his Administration. He barely even treats her like a member of the family. (Same with Barron; most of the time, TFG acts like he only has 3 kids and barely acknowledges the other 2).
She supported his political campaigns, because what else was she going to do? To her, he's just "daddy," an absentee daddy who has likely never given her much attention throughout her life. She was probably excited to be asked to share the spotlight for a few brief moments.
I don't know what kind of person Tiffany is, really, but I don't see any reason to assume the worst. I wish her well and will continue to do so, until and unless I learn something that convinces me she deserves my ill will.

(22,582 posts)He is her father, and I don't feel like her supporting him proves much of anything beyond family loyalty, but maybe that's just me.

(9,212 posts)It doesnt matter that thats her father. if I had a father like that he wouldve been renounced a long time ago. We can only speculate or I can at least about her motives for not doing that.
