Most Repugs are blaming him for the losses they sustained in the midterms and he is being called a loser. Many Repugs are telling him not to announce his candidacy for the 2024 nomination. Many Repugs are touting DeSantis as their anointed one for 2024.

So I'm thinking that Tr**p's announcement tonight is to say - yes he is running for president in 2024 - but as a third party candidate and not as a Repug.

Wouldn't that be an interesting development?

Away from the money that the Conservative movement has, Trump's candidacy would fail instantly. He won't spend his own money, and his followers don't have enough to sustain him.

Trump has benefitted from the largess of very wealthy people who were able to get their payout with massive tax cuts. They appear to be done with him because he can offer them no more. Without the apparatus, all Trump is, is a carnival barker. If he runs 3rd party he will crash and burn, and turn into a laughing stock.

If he announces anything tonight, it will be that he is going to "reclaim the Republican Party from all the haters" and run in 2024.

Revenge can be best served by continuing the grift, sucking small donations away from other candidates, something that would also fatten his coffers considerably.

A third party bid is likely to happen if someone else gets the nomination. That, he can do.
