Why is this insurrectionist, anti-American, Fascist being allowed to announce a candidacy for

President?

How does that happen in a constitutional democracy? He's running to be president of something he intended to destroy, and that's bad enough.

But we're letting him do it.

Then I guess the answer would be, 'yes.'
(incidentally, no one is being forced to support his candidacy - and we also call that democracy)

it's still a free country, he can announce all he wants, doesn't mean he's going to even advance to the general election.

A political party that truly supports democracy would denounce him and have nothing more to do with him. Shouldn’t have had anything to do with him in the first place. But a large number of elected Republicans are complicit and enabling him, and a large number of Republican voters think fascism is just swell.

In theory. One can be on death row, convicted of murder and still be elected President.

If this was back in the days of Al Capone - would the MSM have been there to give Capone the microphone?

Which include the murders of over one million Americans. Congrats usa. There are also no real standards for who can run for office at all.

or for a year after he loses.
This is why:
In my opinion, he announced as soon as he was able because now if he is prosecuted, he will post bail. He will not shut up. He will violate gag order after gag order. AND THEN he will profess, proclaim and shout that he is being politically persecuted and the democrats are like a banana republic dictatorship that is trying to imprison political opponents.

I'm frustrated too, but I think he should have been charged and then the DOJ could have put the finishing touches on the case as Trump was stalling.
