They largely don’t care about ethnicity or sexual preference. We continue to evolve as a species through our children.

I am so proud of my two nieces and my nephew. They grew up in a quasi-evangelical, tfg-loving home but, as young adults, have chosen their own open-minded, kind paths. Each has chosen a career helping others: nursing (both nieces) and the Coast Guard.

As a rule, my family does not openly discuss politics or religion (unless you are alone with a like-minded family member– until the rule was implemented, we had some doozy fights that ruined holidays and vacations), but due to the subtle hints and winks, I am sure all three vote D.
I couldn’t be more proud of them.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
