(72,514 posts)The urge to distrust anything and everything blurted out by a self-described "Alpha Male" is very nearly insurmountable.
And really, if you have to advertise it, does that really mean you are one?

(12,783 posts)It was a mistake made by a researcher. He mistook fathers and mothers for alpha wolves.
"Wolf packs dont actually have alpha males and alpha females, the idea is based on a misunderstanding
The researcher who introduced this term tried to clear the confusion up."
https://sciencenorway.no/ulv/wolf-packs-dont-actually-have-alpha-males-and-alpha-females-the-idea-is-based-on-a-misunderstanding/1850514
What he thought was a complex hierarchy was merely a hierarchy developed by family ties.
So is this guy the father to the other beta males? He would be in a wolf pack.

(72,514 posts)A contractor doing some work for my neighbor recently boasted to me about being an "alpha dog". I thought about telling him the truth of the subject, but decided not to. Talk about not being worth the effort.
I kind of wish I had told him that chimpanzees, for example, do have an alpha-beta hierarchy, and see what he made of that.

(12,783 posts)Their pecking order is basically the same thing.
"In a dive into the history of the term, anthropologist Monika Sumra found that one of the first academic uses of an alpha label appeared in 1921. A researcher discussing chicken hierarchies, otherwise known as a pecking order, gave the top chicken the first letter of the Greek alphabet."

It's like he's claiming to be top chicken.

(4,616 posts)I was thinking. In a random coffee shop, eaves dropping, and you have the ability to KNOW the education level and where these women live? That's some clairvoyant shit right there. I bet he's been in line behind a woman and her 9 kids, all wearing Air Jordan's at the grocery store buying 50 steaks and 3 cases of Cristal Champagne using an EBT card too!

No wonder they had to block the doors to keep the "faithful" from leaving.

And if you have to announce to the world that you're an "alpha male," it's a sure bet that you're far from being one. Unless it's a parody account. If so, it's a really good one.

Trolls gotta troll. Corporate hype's gotta corp.
Now that corp dust has settled in the House, it's time to work the electorate FUD.
It's perception management of most of the people most of the time.
You whack your head cuz you're sane. Don't dwell on this.
Move on from the chewing cleverness at the edges of democracy.

(43,342 posts)FUD is a more or less common acronym these days, used by corporate PR and perception management.

Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt.
You're into perception management? Very cool! The more we know about that, the more we see through "news" and "polls," etc.
And we might see through, but to what -- the what/who are the murk and stealth part. The dark money part. That's what's killing democracy. So many sellouts, so much for the DOJ to do. https://www.justice.gov

If it's a satirical account, he's missing his mark. Again, he has carried his schtick too far for too long. Still a weirdo.
Nobody on either side should want anything to do with him.
