(8,927 posts)I think he will still ultimately get nailed, but I think this is just another example of "the good guys" bending over backwards to appease the obvious criminal when they would not treat anyone else with these sorts of kid gloves. Even if he gets ultimately indicted and convicted, he has received a benefit of the doubt that no one else would have ever gotten and certainly one that he himself did not deserve.

(19,056 posts)I had zero expectations Trump would ever be held accountable for his many alleged crimes and I still have no expectations that he will be held accountable. Thats less of a commentary on Garland, who Im sure is entirely competent, and more of a commentary on how we do things here.
However, I do see some value in the SC approach. I just dont think it changes the ending to the story.
