Maybe Lassie, almost. Comes with street cred. Has a job. Rising diplomat. He can come live at my house, anytime.
Drop his name: "Patron thinks so." That's all that is needed. He will never be forgotten, like Greyfriar's Bobbi. Like the cat laying across the woman's legs while she practices shooting. Like the Granny in the gold jacket, also practicing. Like the fierce cat on the mission. Like the Ukrainian farmer towing away an enemy tank.
But, none like Patron. Symbol of courage and resistance. Those Jack Russel's are fierce and relentless. National Hero Dog.
