Because apparently the photo of Naomi Biden in her wedding dress was taken beforehand for Vogue.
This is why I will NEVER give my money to WaPo or NYT.

(6,974 posts)are horrible at what they do. Look at Chuck Toad, and lord have mercy, Andrea Michelle HORRIBLE. BOTH need to retire.
Let's face it, we don't have a functioning, let's get to the facts, impartial media any longer. We have a bunch of mediocre reporters out there, making big money for doing almost NOTHING.
And you wonder why fewer people are reading newspapers and why people don't have much trust in the so-called liberal media. Look at Parker's piece of shit tweets. But then again, these networks are run and or owned by reich-wingers so ....

(58,785 posts)world-class journalists, many of them investigative, commentary, watchdog.
It's a horrible mistake also to confuse journalism with political entertainment influencers like Chuck Todd and Mitchelle who are there to use political subjects to advance the agendas they agreed to.
Maybe turn off daytime MSNBC and CNN especially and pick up a selection of good newspapers and high-class journals. Before long at all, you'll NEVER again equate agents Chuck Todd and Mitchelle with high-quality, or even honest but modest-quality journalists. Or any journalists at all.
As to why fewer people are READING quality articles, "It's the work, stupid." Even among those who say they are, most are reading the headlines and maybe the next sentence enlarging on it. That's measured and proven -- with horrifying findings!
So much easier to let cable personalities deliver the highly curated and edited selections MSNBC feeds us via certain programs especially. Congratulations at least at objecting to two that have been among the very worst.
Give the real press a try. Maybe just a cancellable subscription to, say, The Atlantic for a journal and/or WaPo or NYT for a newspaper for a couple months? The newspapers both usually offer some months free as an intro. To compare with what you've gotten your impressions of what today's journalism is.
Good luck, though you won't need it if you do it. Oh, and btw, don't be too dismayed if something fails your standards. When the national stakes are this high, we should all expect and watch for attempts to influence elections with biased journalism. But there doesn't begin to be enough time to read all the fine journalism available every day.

(6,974 posts)She's just like most of these hack, no talent, big mouth reporters out there, who have little or nothing to offer. Comparing Pres. Biden's White House to that raw sewage pit known at the tRump White House and trying to say that there's no difference in their lies

They want "clicks".
It's been said they are bored because the Bidens are not "exciting" like the Trumps.

Of course, if Trump does get back into the White House, he'll try to throw them in jail for being "disloyal" to him.
I'm sure they'll find a way to excuse that also.

I used to LOVE the New York Times.
My journalism teacher in high school provided us with free copies every single day and my family loved to read that paper.

And other sources.
I do sometimes read the Times and other newspapers at the library. Its free.
I also watch some videos from RELIABLE sources on YouTube.
And I love The New Yorker.
The Times has been a huge disappointment for several years now. Ever since they fired most of their editors, the decline has been obvious. Poor journalism, little fact-checking, poor sourcing.
Its a shame, because they have really talented reporters, but the lack of oversight is obvious.

Look at what CBS news is doing in ginning up this FAKE Hunter Biden Laptop story AGAIN, and there's never been a laptop ... only a hard drive filled with Russian disinformation passed around by the likes of Pedio Gaetz, Drunken and stirred Rudy and Fascist, liar, racist and thief Steve "Pig Pen" Bannon. WHO in their right minds trusts those traitors & insurrectionists to tell the truth about ANYTHING?
Oh, I forgot and legally blind man who took in Biden's laptop who'd be a hell of a wittiness on Hunter Biden's non-existent Laptop, but what is really a hard drive which has no chain of custody and is a Russian piece of disinformation to attack the Biden's or who the reich-wingers like GYM "so what if those guys got sexually abused" Jordan now calls the Biden Crime Family
I love Midas Touch ......

(52,227 posts)Not every guess wants to stand around for a couple hours while the photographer takes staged photos of every possible combination of bride, groom, wedding party, and close family.
I've even seen wedding photos of the bridge and groom on the beach or at sunset when I know the wedding itself wasn't near a beach or at sunset.
Where's the deception? Where's the "too cute by half"?
This is utter nonsense.
Jealous media types abusing their media power to try to smear a president for not inviting them, combined with the usual over-the-top right-wing bias.

(1,766 posts)That they took photos in advance and didn't ask diddums to come watch?
You're not entitled to be at an event, poking your slimy nose into things where you don't belong.
And if it's about the "lie" about photos taken in advance not at the wedding (WTF?), well, cupcake, people take wedding pictures before the event all the dang time.
Every time I went to the McNay museum in San Antonio, some future bride and various people in her wedding party were there taking photos, but no wedding was taking place to go with it.
And I mean that happened
EVERY.
SINGLE.
TIME.
I went to the McNay.
Maybe if this stupid tr*mped up trash had ever been part of a decent wedding, then she'd know that it's the norm to take wedding photos in advance, especially for couples who have scheduled their wedding during a time of uncertain/potentially unpleasant weather.

(7,241 posts)"Welcome to the art of PR," but here we are.
Did the wedding not happen? Did it not happen as described?
Was it possibly a more enjoyable day for the Bidens without the pressure of another phot-op? I mean, with the recent TFG spawn wedding, we've seen what can happen to put a kink in a reputedly special day and its aftermath.
And was it more manageable for Vogue and its deadlines?
Welcome to the industry. You obviously still have much to learn.

The response was vitriolic as people pointed out that he was also visiting the church graveyard to visit his deceased family members!
