(3,259 posts)Call Musk a fake engineer and say he's never added any value to any design. Where's that electric pickup bro? Why do the side panels on the Muskla cars vary in gap and depth? Why is "Self Driving" not self driving?
Fake businessman too.

I feel bad for everyone who simply enjoyed twitter or found it a useful source of news and opinion.
Twitter employees certainly didn't deserve this.

(71,562 posts)and the way he's treated his employees does give me pause. but every person he fired is gonna get a better job. not like he took over walmart.

(71,562 posts)i've been saying- block the trolls, break the troll farms. block the ads, break the bank.
i just go on jags, and block every company in my side bar, esp if it says it's promoted. even companies/ppl i like. the analytics pick up shit like that.

(15,909 posts)The stupidity of treating employees the way Musk has done will best be demonstrated by making Twitter fail the stress test of lots of usage without all the tech support and expertise that had been there to monitor performance and either proactively fix problems before they get out of hand, or quickly fix the failures that can and do arise.

(9,175 posts)To have less Democrats. . Dems have outnumbered Republicans on Twitter two to one. Now Twitter has over a million new Twitter followers- and I bet tons of them are Republicans. Plus - there are so many disabled people, long Covid folks who depend on Twitter for support and info on the latest treatments. You can follow tons of scientists, doctors , virologists to get up to the minute studies and info. NFT artists have a huge Twitter community. No place else can I actually have a conversation with my favorite authors.

(13,318 posts)I want to see what Musk does with it. If he subdues what he calls the "hall monitors" on both the left and right fringe, reducing their influence to their one-person-one-vote proportion of the overall tweeting community, I'm for it. It's democracy in action.
In my view, any supposed champion for any group speaks and acts only for themselves unless firmly known to be acting with the good will and blessing of the group.

None of the Dem pols have abandoned communicating there.
I realize this is too hard for people who don't actually use the site for much to understand, but I'm not going to shut myself in a room somewhere with my hands over my ears and eyes just because there's a pernicious idiot paying for the platform, nor because the same trolls that infect just about every inch of social media are there as well, either.
Nothing corrupts a conversation from Dan Rather on Twitter, if that's all you're reading. If you want to read the nonsense and the rest, it's really your choice on that site. You really have to be an adult there and understand that there are bad forces out in the world who want to communicate bad things.
Nothing forces you to be part of those bad discussions on Twitter. Nothing. I'm not going to pretend that my participation there means a whit to anyone more than my own interests. I don't pay a dime, and I'm at the least, a counter to misinformation where I do run across it.
I just don't believe that looking away from Twitter will change or effect anything. It would be just shutting myself off from the world of information there for some vain belief that someone would notice or care. I just think it's absurd to even imagine my 'boycotting' something that only recognizes my screen name and password would have any impact at all.
I'll be as perpetually interested in Twitter as long as the confluence of people I pay attention to are interested in communicating there.
Meowmee
(5,185 posts)but I haven't yet. I almost never used it and don't read anything there except when posted elsewhere. I can get my information easily eslewhere.
I am wondering if he runs it into the ground will he be booted out? Hopefully then someone normal can take over. I think it is up to each person to decide. I can't stomach the hatred he has unleashed there and I don't want to contribute to it financially.

(5,278 posts)something someone who doesnt use Twitter for global information from scientists, artists, activists, journalists, writers, etc perhaps would understand. As of right now, that still remains. I have Musk on mute so don't see his tweets. I have curated lists and dont see the underbelly of Twitter because I dont engage there in that way.
Its truly sad what is happening, but I will remain as long as I continue to get a lot out of it, can continue listening and learning, and for me that very much still exists there.

I would never have known this childs' name. Look at the photo, someone in dark dark times loved a child enough to get a photo, they loved that child, they carried that photo into the door to hell, until that child was brutally murdered.
I bear witness because I learned this because of the Auschwitz Museum Twitter account
May Siegfried Robert Spanjaard always be a blessing to us.
