The Colorado shooter’s dad on finding out his son murdered people: “They started telling me about the incident, a shooting... And then I go on to find out it’s a gay bar. I got scared, ‘Shit, is he gay?’ And he’s not gay, so I said, phew… I am a conservative Republican.” (@CBS8)

The Colorado shooter’s dad: “I praised him for violent behavior really early. I told him it works... You’ll get immediate results.”

He then went on to praise the Colorado shooter’s grandpa, a MAGA Republican politician named Randy Voepel who supported the January 6 insurrection.

A defense attorney called Sunday night and told Brink, who lives in Southern California, that Anderson Lee Aldrich was under arrest for the massacre at Club Q.

“They started telling me about the incident, a shooting involving multiple people,” Brink said Tuesday in an interview outside his San Diego home with CBS 8. “And then I go on to find out it’s a gay bar. I said, ‘God, is he gay?’ I got scared, ‘Shit, is he gay?’ And he’s not gay, so I said, ‘Phhhewww…’”

I said "Meth" use early into the video while watching with my husband and then the man confirmed it. I've been around a lot of meth addicts. It can induce psychosis. His speech pattern, as well as his eye movements and head movements are indicative of that (induced psychosis). Prolonged meth abuse, the induced psychosis, behaves just like untreated schizophrenia in the meth user. The drug truly fucks a person up. Once you reach that stage, rehab isn't enough. The addict needs psychiatric care.

However, some of the things are just too outlandish and it seems they have blown the prank.

My takeaway: he's in denial. He mentions repeatedly that he isn't sure about what even happened, that (at the time of the interview) he had not seen any media reports, only what some attorney in Colorado told him over the phone. This explains at least partly why he is so cavalier about it. No doubt his twisted damaged brain factors in heavily here too.

A few interesting points: he claims he believed his son had suicided in 2016 (says ex-wife told him so), and only learned that wasn't the case last year, when the son contacted him to--apparently--berate him for being a shitty dad and for embarrassing him and ruining his life due to his porn career and his airing the family laundry on TV (Intervention show, Divorce Court, etc). The kid was bullied over this (he says) which was also why he had changed his name. The dad says he last saw his son when he was like 10.

I think the son did this as payback to his father; to inflict as much pain and suffering upon his dad as the dad had caused to him. And perhaps he chose the targets he did to further antagonize his dad, either by making him suspect his son was gay, or by killing people he knew his dad disapproved of, thus causing the exact sort of conflicted emotion the dad displayed in the interview.

But in my view, this was directed squarely towards the dad: punishment for the humiliation he caused his son to suffer.

No doubt that whole family is really, really, really fucked up. And as usual, innocent bystanders get hurt.
