Ugh! A Covid Thanksgiving!

First my daughter got it. Then my wife got it from our grandson, who she babysits a couple days a week. Now I've got it. So instead of going over to our nephew's house and being with the whole family, we'll just have a simple dinner here with my daughter, S-I-L and GRAND!

And this is after being double vexed, triple boosted, and wearing a mask everywhere!

We cancelled Thanksgiving dinner with children and grand children, so it will be just wife and I. We hope to do a family 'between-holiday' dinner in a couple of weeks.
I feel sorry for the wife -- I'm piss poor company when I'm at my best!

My wife and I are celebrating the Holiday with the Flu. We were looking forward to hosting my daughter, her husband and our grand daughter. Along with two of their friends. Now it is the row of us and a hot turkey sandwich.

It's like having a bad cold and no energy. And I'm losing my voice. Hope I'm better by the weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

avoid catching it (heard from a neigbor too that it's going around) but started getting symptoms yesterday, didn't sleep well last night, and woke up feeling worse late this morning.

I did pick up ham and cranberry sauce and other sides at the store a couple of days ago, but they were out of frozen pumpkin pies, I didn't want to make one from scratch, and didn't want one already baked since I love the smell of pumpkin pie baking early on Thanksgiving mornings. I'd mentioned that to my neighbor when I got home that day, adding that I didn't need dessert anyway with all the sugar in cranberry sauce, way more sugar than I usually eat. I didn't feel like stopping at other stores looking for the pie, either, since I was the only one who'd be eating it today.

She brought me a frozen pumpkin pie yesterday. Knocked on the door, then hurried away after leaving the pie right outside the door so I'd just see it (with her note written on the carton) when I opened the door. (And that way there was no chance I could give her this cold.)

Very sweet neighbor, and another reason to give thanks.

Ours has also. Kid called yesterday saying he felt something coming on. Tested negative but out of an abundance of caution not coming. Still feels crummy today but hadn’t tested yet when we were texting this morning. His gf is a day or tww behind re symptoms. But, they have a chicken and stuff for sides for will have a t’giving dinner.

They got boosted about a month ago and got their flu shots.

They were going to be here all weekend so everything prepared in amounts to last all weekend.

H and I will be eating leftovers for a long while.

I got it from my GD. I was recovering from a broken ankle and some brought gd down to see us and as it turned out, she had covid. Didn’t know she was sick until the day after the visit and I got sick a day after her and hubby got sick a day after me.

I just sat outside about 20 feet apart for Thanksgiving with my husband who has covid. I have not gotten it so far. Sure different than what I planned or used to but still nice.

I have been wearing a 3M N95 Aura because community transmission is high, but I was thinking of switching to a KF94 for lower risk situations.

I hope you feel better soon.

My daughter got it first. She has no idea where she got it from. Then she gave it to her infant son. y wife was babysitting him before my daughter knew she got Covid. Then my wife self quarantined, here at our house, but you can only do so much. I got it over the weekend.

The effectiveness of one v. the other is not statistically significant.

The KF94 may be more reliable, since it is apparently harder to fake the the Korean certification process.
