As Arizona counties face a Monday deadline to certify their midterm election results, Republican candidates and activists promoting false theories of voter fraud are refusing to back down.
State Senator-elect Jake Hoffman, head of Arizonas Freedom Caucus, a group of largely pro-Trump Republican state lawmakers, told Reuters he will lead an investigation into the states election when the legislature reconvenes in January.
Right-wing activist (and professional alcoholic) Steve Bannon, a former Trump administration official and promoter of election conspiracy theories, said voting machine mishaps on the Nov. 8 Election Day tainted Democrat Katie Hobbs victory over Kari Lake, the Republican candidate for governor who has refused to concede.
Hobbs will never be considered legitimate, said Bannon, who has been providing Lake counsel. "That's going to cripple her ability to govern. So that's why this is a crisis. There's a crisis for the entire state.

(33,643 posts)The problematic ballots were simply tallied on other tabulators that weren't rejecting them, or counted by hand. Nobody was disenfranchised by this glitch in the tabulators. And in fact, this problem was caused by excessive levels of security (the ink on the ballot itself ... not the VOTES, the printing of the ballot, wasn't dark enough and the tabulators at polling sites were rejecting them), something actually insisted on by the GOP. They wanted this stuff set up super-strict, security-wise. Cause, ya know, bamboo ballots and such
Then when there was a problem NOT caused by any sort of fraud, but rather their own paranoid demands ... NOW it's a scheme by Democrats. You can't make this shit up.
BTW, how did Yee (-R) win handily the state-wide office of Treasurer over her (-D) opponent, STEVE?
