Justice is moving unusually quick.

If you step away, you may miss something?

We read that the January 6th Committee is wrapping up and getting ready to make their report to the public.

Also, we read that they have, in the last couple or three days, finally interviewed Mr Ornato, Trump's man in the Secret Service and his Assistant Chief of Staff. Finally, they may have uncovered what happened with the Secret Service on the day our Capitol was attacked?

Also, they had KellyAnne Conway come in yesterday to testify for 5 hours. That must have been a very interesting hearing? Just trying to keep KellyAnne on topic would have been a challenge.

And we read that the Jan6 Grand Jury had a subpoenaed Steven Miller come in yesterday and testify about what he knew. He probably had to dial down his smugness and arrogance before he entered the building?

Also, a jury found two leaders of the Oath Keepers militia group guilty of seditious conspiracy and their sentence is yet to come. This was a game changer for all the folks that talked about how it was like a group of "tourists" on January 6th and it really wasn't a big deal. This verdict stuck a big pin in that balloon.

Soon, we might expect charges of seditious conspiracy against Enrique (Henry) Tarrio and his group of Proud Boys that violently attacked our Capitol.

With the subpoena of Steven Miller, it does appear they are working their way up the ladder.

(And by the way, Mark Meadows has been ordered by the SC Supreme Court to testify before the GA Grand Jury.)

He testified yesterday. Testimony is not the same act as being subpoena'ed, but numerous posters on DU post as if they are the same thing. They are not.

Other posters have assumed that Jack Smith subpoena'ed Miller. Smith was only appointed recently. He's probably not even in the room as Miller testified.

From what I can glean from statements from Schiff and others, Ornato did not give up much, he seemed to have a lapse in memory, rather than take the 5th or lie under oath. I hope others have thrown him under the bus, he is one I dearly would love to see put in handcuffs and carted off.

A federal grand jury in the District of Columbia returned a superseding indictment today charging five members of the Proud Boys, including the group’s former national chairman, with seditious conspiracy and other charges for their actions before and during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Their actions disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the presidential election.

The defendants include Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, 38, of Miami, Florida, the former national chairman of the Proud Boys; Ethan Nordean, 31, of Auburn, Washington; Joseph Biggs, 38, of Ormond Beach, Florida; Zachary Rehl, 37, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Dominic Pezzola, 44, of Rochester, New York. All previously were indicted and remain detained. They pleaded not guilty to charges contained in earlier indictments.

The superseding indictment adds two charges to the earlier indictment: one count of seditious conspiracy and one count of conspiracy to prevent an officer from discharging any duties. All defendants now face a total of nine charges and Pezzola faces an additional robbery charge. The defendants are scheduled to appear for a hearing on June 9, 2022, in the District of Columbia

18 USC Ch. 115: TREASON, SEDITION, AND SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES

§2383. Rebellion or insurrection

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

I am not sure why they did not charge this count.

Too many people here with no legal expertise are huffing and puffing that Trump should have been indicted by now and the fact that it hasn't happened is an indication of cold feet at the DOJ. Very tired of pessimistic prognostication by people who are in the dark and unable to keep up. Impatience is not a virtue.

In the dark and unable to keep up?

What I've noticed on DU, when it comes to Garland and the DoJ, is that some people have no patience for others who express opinions different than theirs and that they frequently resort to insulting language to express how very tired they are of those other opinions.

Some of us believe we should wait patiently and leave legal decisions to Merrick Garland. There's nothing to indicate that he will let Trump slide. We think it's foolish to assail him for not charging Trump yesterday when the investigation and case-building is not complete and rock-solid. I know not everyone agrees with us. But we're certainly not bothered. Like everyone else, we think we're right. No offense.

Perhaps I over reacted a little. It's very easy to get caught up in the daily back and forth that is DU. I sometimes need to remind myself to be more tolerant, or to step away from DU for a bit when I grow annoyed or tired of an ongoing discussion. Peace.

I see people sickened by the pitiful results of "Fitzmas" and the Mueller investigation, who are understandably wondering if that fucked up piece of shit Trump will EVER truly be held accountable......
