the hopes raised by the Clinton campaign, by Bill and Hillary Clinton and Al and Tipper Gore. Looking forward, not back.
I started to post video of that song in a thread in LBN today when I first saw the news about Christine's passing, but my eyes blurred, and I couldn't finish posting the link.
"Don't stop thinking about tomorrow" can be a tough message on a day when we're saying goodbye to someone whose words and music touched us so much.
But it's a message that shouldn't be forgotten. That Christine wouldn't want us to ever forget.
I just posted an OP with the beautiful, heartbreaking letter Stevie Nicks wrote and tweeted for her friend today. The images of the handwritten letter are at https://democraticunderground.com/100217422781 .
Stevie wrote, at the end of that letter, "See you on the other side." I don't know enough about Christine McVie to know if she shared Stevie's belief in an afterlife. I'm guessing she did, but I don't know for certain. Personally, I believe in one, though not for religious reasons. So I believe there are tomorrows still for the beautiful spirit we knew as Christine McVie. That Stevie Nicks will have that reunion with her.
And all of us have tomorrows here that can be made brighter with Christine's music.
Rock on, lovely lady. And thank you...

(21,648 posts)I also remember serial womanizer and divorce fiend Newt Gingrich caterwauling about how "the song is about divorce!"
This was back when Repugs still pretended to worry about such things.

(32,086 posts)hearing it often made me want to cry. Those were some dark days, and it was sad to see that optimism evaporate on election night in 2000. I didn't expect to see even darker days 8 years after that.
