Should Special Counsel request Trump's tax forms from the Ways and Means Committee?

After all, it was the IRS that took down Capone.

Unless, of course, there is nothing in his tax forms that would be considered "illegal". How possible is that?

In my opinion, the J6 Committee should turn over all of their interviews and evidence to the DOJ.

The DOJ should be able to use everything at their disposal to rid this country of this scourge.

1. Would they be relevant to either the 1/6 events or the missing documents?

When Trump was running for president for the first time in 2016, he refused to make his tax returns public. The Ways and Means committee first asked for them in 2019, so they would not be relevant to the Special Counsel's investigations and it's doubtful they'd have any information that would be useful to them.

2. Why would it have to be "relevant" to the investigation?

If he is seen committing a murder, can he not be charged by the DOJ?

3. Because legal relevance is essential to the prosecution of a case.

If Ways & Means finds something in the tax returns that looks like evidence of a crime they can refer that to DoJ, but it wouldn't be part of the Special Counsel investigation, which is looking only at 1/6 and the Mierda-Loco documents. It would be an investigation of an entirely separate and unrelated offense, to be handled by DoJ in the normal course of its work.

I had heard that the law was changed over a hundred years ago to keep tax records secret from the public.

.... and DJT tax returns,.. and criminal referrals all sent to the DOJ and the US Senate investigative committees - before the ReThugs take over the US House.. To be certain this information is not buried and forgotten but eventually finds its way to the public domain.

Kevin McCarthy and his crew of crazy Fascists will just poof - make all the tRump evidence just disappear and go away.

I would hope that all the J6 evidence and testimony given under oath would become part of the Congressional Record.

The R's would do everything they could to not refer to that evidence, but I don't see how it could be disappeared all together.

Unless perhaps congress made a criminal referral and provided the returns as evidence.

Justice matters.

Finance Committee Chairman Wyden but I don't know for sure if it's doable without any formal request needed.

DUers who know the process may be able to clear that up. (I don't have time to search for it ATM.)
