I think the margin of victory will be more than 2% over the 50% marker, but even so, can you imagine running into 100 random people and having 45-48 of them explain why Herschel Walker should be one of their two voices legislators in (what used to be) world's greatest debating society?
Do they think that workers are paid too much?
That insulin prices are too low?
That billionaires are overtaxed and need a break?
Warnock holds narrow lead over Walker in Georgia runoff: poll
Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) holds a narrow 2 percentage point lead over Republican rival Herschel Walker in the Georgia Senate runoff, according to a new survey from Emerson College Polling and The Hill.
The poll released on Thursday found that 49 percent of very likely voters surveyed said they would back Warnock, compared to 47 percent who said they would vote for Walker. A separate 4 percent said they were undecided; that polling falls within the margin of error, effectively tying the two candidates.

(33,327 posts)Repukes think that, and they'd vote for a tree stump with an R next to its name. It's not a complex thought process; what they're voting for is "Not-Warnock".
Same deal in 'Bama with Tuberville. Doug Jones was a Dem. Anything is preferable to a Dem.
Since I've never voted for a Republican in my entire voting life, and I never will, I understand their approach.

(54,370 posts)Even in a state that has enclaves the elect MTG to the House, as a whole Georgia has plenty of universities and educated, sane people. It's where I record what music I do when and if I have time, and it's home to more gifted musicians than anywhere I know, maybe than even Nashville.
"Appalling" was exactly the word used to describe the polling numbers coming from out of there by a friend of mine who has the dubious distinction of being dubbed "Washington's most quoted pundit." As usual, we didn't disagree.
