Planned Parenthood

The only health provider I had for years. And they were excellent.

I get so irate over people wanting to defund this organization. That would have had such a devastating effect on my life when I was younger.

They need to mind their own business.

Don't know what I'd do without them. My doctor just retired. I had her over 30 years at PP. Don't know what I'm going to do now. See a stranger ? ugh.

You mean INCUBATORS, don't you?

In Reich Wing World, women are slaves, nothing more. Wouldn't surprise me IN THE LEAST, after overturning the right to contraception, that the nazis try to repeal the 19th amendment.

After all, females are just property to these insane fascists.

Geez, I HOPE I don't have to include a sarcasm emoji here.....

3. Planned Parenthood helped me when I had no insurance & couldn't afford birth control.

Their doctors were good, they recognized that I had special challenges and gave me birth control pills even though I had severe circulatory issues. I got them with, I have a very high chance of dying if I get pregnant due to my condition and there's 1 in a million chance (maybe with me 1 in 1000) that I die from birth control so which is safer? Especially since I lived with my boyfriend and had already had 1 abortion and did not want to do that a 2nd time. Thank God for Planned Parenthood!

Mind your own business.
That should be number one on the list of responsibilities for insuring freedom.

This illegitimate Supreme Court decision has made me furious.

Every woman in this damn country deserves the same rights that I had.

RWers are misinformed about the role of PP, as they are about many things.

12. Republicans have spread the lie that Planned Parenthood is just an abortion factory.

It is far more. It is a real healthcare provider and is the only medical facility available for many poor women. Years ago, Texas Republican legislators drastically cut the healthcare budget for women’s clinics—most also treated poor men without health insurance—in an effort to force PP and other clinics out of business. They succeeded with the closing of 81 clinics, mostly in rural areas of Texas without other healthcare services. Only 3 of the 81 had ever performed an abortion. The rest just provided medical services. One result was an increase in the maternal death rate, which seems not to concern Republicans at all because they’re mostly poor women.

And what did the legislature do with their savings? Gave much of it to Christian crisis pregnancy centers to expand in Texas—centers that have no trained medical staff or doctors and provide no medical treatment. What they do provide are lies about abortion and proselytizing for their religion.

We badly need universal healthcare in this country and a law that makes abortion legal while keeping politicians and religious extremists out of our healthcare. I don’t know how this can be accomplished at this point, but it’s worth working on.

Someone wanted to convince me I should join the "President's Circle." I asked why.
She said "because I'm the president." I said, "Oh, well in that case, OK!"

My Pap Smear found abnormalities on the cervix. Further testing found stage 1 cervical cancer. They made a few phone calls and found a DR in my area willing to treat me basically at cost and on a payment plan. They were also my source for birth control pills.

Fast forward several years and I now live in another state, with a job that provides so called health insurance. Again, a Pap smear shows stage 1. Only now my "health insurance" will not pay for a pre-existing condition. My Dr will not help me until I pre-pay for her services. By the time I did that, I was at a stage 2. I was so fucking broke that I had the surgery in the morning and went into work for my shift. My supervisor tried to send me home and I had to refuse, explaining that I needed the money because I had to pay out of pocket for the procedure, because insurance refused to pay.

This is one reason why I loathe republicans.
