Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker fails to see the humor in former president Barack Obamas jokes about Walkers preference to be a werewolf rather than a vampire.
Appearing on Fox News, the candidate claimed Obama did not tell the whole story when joking about comments Walker made in November where he said, I dont know if you know, but vampires are some cool people, are they not? But let me tell you something that I found out: A werewolf can kill a vampire. Did you know that? I never knew that. So, I dont want to be a vampire anymore. I want to be a werewolf.
The remarks prompted Obama to joke this past week at a campaign event for Sen. Raphael Warnock ahead of Georgias Dec. 6 run-off election. Since the last time I was here, Mr. Walker has been talking about issues of great importance to the people of Georgia, like whether its better to be a vampire or a werewolf, Obama said. This is a debate that I must confess I once had myself
when I was seven.

If Walker was dissatisfied with Obama ribbing him, he likely wont be happy with Saturday Night Lives portrayal of him either. The show made a mockery of Walker over the weekend.

Maybe I should run for the Senate.

(61,033 posts)he could've been a stand-up comedian if he had went that route.
I'm glad he kept to politics and saved his routines for the campaign trail and the WH Correspondence dinners (remember those jokes about trump?)

(39,658 posts)Well, I don't have any money to bet, but if I did, I'd bet that whatever 'whole story" he's talking about is likely to do more damage.
Better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and confirm it.

(12,046 posts)So I guess the fact that 1/2 the country embraced a narcissistic racist was somehow Obama's fault? And he shouldn't make fun of the ridiculous things Herschel Walker says when he is campaigning for his opponent? Jesus christ.

Out of that third were Republicans who vote R no matter who and don't necessarily have a fondness for TFG himself.

(12,046 posts)My point stands that the implication that Obama's ribbing of Trump at the correspondents dinner was somehow responsible for Trump's political career is simply absurd.

It's going be painful, but someone needs to tell him the truth. And some one needs to make him listen.
Mr.Bill
(24,906 posts)that possibly, if he was willing, Jim Brown could be the person to talk to Walker. He is known to have done this with other celebrities. Richerd Pryor talked about him doing it with him. Plus there's the connection they both have with football and fame.
Probably too late now, though. Many have already voted.

(41,707 posts)What I meant is that Mr. Walker has no understanding how he's being used and made a fool of by the Repukes.
Someone he trusts needs to break it to him gently so he doesn't go off the deep end.
The story was that before he decided to run for Senator he talked with his family. Herschel's entire family got to vote on whether he should enter politics and run for Senator. The entire family voted NO, but he ignored them all.
Mr.Bill
(24,906 posts)especially your first sentence. I just think Jim Brown would be a good person to do what you are talking about. It's just a shame no one did it a while ago.
