As a 73 yo woman who does not like men with hats on indoors ( a glitch in my liberal beliefs...I was raised in the south), this man gets a pass. He is amazing to be out and about after that horror.

13. I confess to having the same initial reaction.

I really get disturbed over cowboy hats being left on during movies, especially. Caps aren't such a problem since they hug the head.

My understanding is that if you go on a Navy base and enter the O Club (Officers Club), removing your cover (hat) is non-optional. A bell is rung and you buy a round of drinks. I think the original consequence was more physical.

All those country stars who wear them all the time signal insecurity to me. Pretty sure hair loss is an issue with many.

I do not host many people in my home for meals, but would be tempted to ask ANY man with a hat to remove it before eating. It is one of the southern traditions I still find appropriate.

Now those younger people who wear stocking caps year round...even in summer are just bizarre.

17. I used to work with a musician who saw them really early on

DC band. They were the top of the ticker with another band in between. U2 was the opening opening act. This was before Boy came out I’m sure. Like other artist types the guy I knew always checked out other acts. Their tours seemed to whirl around REM and Los Lobos who they really wanted to play with - always a day before or after their gigs. He said you could see it back then. The sound but mostly importantly Bono working the room. Masterful especially in a small club.

Isn't it uplifting to see this once again in OUR White House after the vomit-inducing orange anus mouth and his eternally scowling, squinty eyed, porn star wife?

It is so reminiscent of JFK and Jackie. Pure class.

As an aside, Gladys Knight is so young looking. I saw her in concert about 15 years ago and her energy on stage put me to shame, and I'm a fairly active senior woman.
