For the past six years, decent people have asked the obvious question: How low is the GOP willing to sink in order to protect, defend, cover for, and bow down to kiss the ass of Donald Trump?
His law-breaking, his abuse of power, his pathological lying, his theft, his blatant racism, and his embarrassing stupidity weren't enough to get them off their knees.
His spewing of misinformation during COVID, which led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans, didn't phase them. His incitement of violence, which culminated in his attempt to overthrow our democracy via armed insurrectionists, didn't remove a single pair of Republican lips from the Great Orange Taint.
And now we have the ultimate answer from the sycophantic ass-kissers across the aisle: Trump declaring that the US Constitution should be discarded is STILL NOT ENOUGH to move a single GOPer to stop crawling on their knees and demonstrate that they still have a somewhat functioning spine.
And so we move on to our next question: Is there anything more pathetic than a flaccid-dicked Republican who thinks that licking Trump's asshole is a path to political power?
Apparently, there are those who still believe it is. I don't hold out much hope for any of them.

(32,601 posts)the dark monied right wing domestic oligarchs who have the same views as Trump and who fund the Magat party and who own and control the MSM the control the narrative. It is people like Elon Musk who have spent billions to ruin Twitter, all designed to push the anti-democratic agenda.
Everything is going according to plan for the fascists.

(9,714 posts)Nearly two hundred years have passed and the demographics have changed, but make no mistake, failing to put down the beast when the opportunity existed has doomed us to Trump, to MAGA, and to yet another Constitutional crisis.

(9,714 posts)Though they lack the good sense to understand why, it is incontrovertible that the natives here still wish to wage war on the federal government. If you think the confederacy died in 1865 and was reborn in the 1930's, then you'd best stop tagging posts with words like "nonsense".

(10,252 posts)I just watched Penn and Teller's movie about Enron. Remember Enron, a corporation that was greed on steroids? Built on lies and bribes. It's bankruptcy was the largest in US history. It's corruption so massive that it also took down and destroyed Arthur Anderson, the oldest accounting firm in the US. It is the corruption of greed that is at the heart of capitalism and the Republican party. Is there a deregulation or a tax reduction that Republicans don't love? Public money spent on healthcare, education, infrastructure would be ever so much better in the pockets of the ultrarich.
How many millions, billions of $$$ does it take to be truly safe and truly happy?

(71,552 posts)Trump is a monster. It will be a great day for America and the world when he is permanently gone to whatever awaits monsters like him after they die. I am not talking about violence just the natural course of life...ashes to ashes and dust to dust.

(7,794 posts)There are few, if any, Republican Representatives or Senators who deserve less than criminal charges for their years of polluting the national conversation with intentional miscommunications and blatant lies. Indict and arrest them, including anyone in the federal judicial system who has abetted this pollution. Prosecute, fine into penury and imprison them all. They are friends and supporters of the world's greatest enemy, a misinformed electorate. They continue to enrich and empower themselves at the taxpayers' expense. Trump has always been but the tip of the iceberg, the barker for the show just inside their tent.
We have media owned by interests whose only purpose is profit. They have and continue to misrepresent news events as a production for the entertainment of viewers whose sole purpose is to buy products advertised by their sponsors.
