Elderly Home Depot worker dies from injuries two months after being shoved to floor by shoplifter

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11502965/Home-Depot-worker-83-dies-injuries-sustained-suspected-thief-shoved-floor.html
Home Depot worker, 83, dies from his injuries six weeks after being shoved to the floor by a 'serial shoplifter' he tried to stop stealing $800 worth of pressure washers
Gary Rasor, 83, was pushed to the ground by a thief at a Home Depot in Hillsborough, North Carolina
He died six weeks later; a medical examiner ruled his death a homicide
Rasor's wife said the suspect who stole three pressure washers worth a total of $800, was known to him as a serial shoplifter

Basically the old man asked for a receipt, and the worthless pos thug shoves him down to the concrete without a second thought. What an absolute POS, they need to catch him.

Really hope the perp is caught.

And he was 83 and still working. Now some people like to work, especially at a place like Home Depot for old retired guys who know a lot about fixing stuff. But more than likely this man forced to work because of our country's pathetic social safety net for retired people.

A video can show you what someone looks like, but that's just the beginning. Identifying and locating them can be like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack.

They've had quite a while to work on this already, though, which makes me wonder what's going on.

EDITED TO ADD: I just watched the video, and it shows he was wearing a Hoodia and a face mask. Not a lot visible to identify him by.

I was recently in a Home Depot and I watched an individual walk right through the self check out area with Dewalt 10 inch Mitre Saw. He was being followed by a store employee who asked him to stop. The shoplifter kept on going to a car and left. Per the manager they are not allowed to stop or touch the alleged shoplifter. They try and get photos and license plate numbers and then call the police.

Wanting to is one thing but having to work at a HD for crap wages shouldn't be something a guy this age should have to do to make ends meet.

Of course there is a percentage that must work. Inflation hasn’t helped but January may alleviate some of the price increase with the big social security jump.

I've been retired for 4 years, but after one month where I intentionally did nothing, I substitute teach.
It's useful, it's needed, and I can say no any day I please.
I donate the money to the food bank, too. So, I feel double useful.
I'm not doing it because I have to.
This guy may have doing something similar albeit at much older than me.

I am partially disabled and know that I could no longer be employed anywhere. There are plenty of people my age that just couldn't handle it.....those that can, have my admiration.

The "thug" who knocked him down obviously only cared for himself and consequences just didn't bother him. How did humanity drop to such a low level? There are some Grinches that never change!

Top of the list is that he died. A life taken for $800.

2nd - He was shoved to the ground just for doing his job.
3rd - He's 83, why is he working?
I get it, if he's working at 83 because he wanted to, and didn't need to.
But if he was working because he needed to, this country is messed up if we can't take care of our elderly in their senior years, where they can just enjoy life.

A man working at 83 years old, and probably always worked.

I’ll bet the cretin that killed him has never worked.
