Republicans Are Grim As Herschel Walker Thinks Hes Running For The House
The Georgia Senate runoff is expected to be close, but Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) has momentum, and Herschel Walker thinks that he is running for the House.
Politico reported:
In a brief interview with POLITICO on Saturday, Walker seemed to mistake which chamber of Congress he was running for and also appeared to think the outcome of his race would determine control of the Senate.
The polarization in politics is so extreme right now that a person like Herschel Walker, who doesnt appear to know what he is running for, will probably get 45%-48% of the vote in the runoff.
Walker thinks that he is running for the House, and he believes that he will determine control of the House, so this is the current state of play for Republicans in the Georgia Senate runoff. The GOP is stuck with a candidate who is glued at the hip to the unpopular Trump, who seems unfit to hold office, and has an opponent running laps around him on the campaign trail.
Republicans are in a glum mood because all signs point to Raphael Warnock being reelected on Tuesday.

Too bad he wasn't properly vetted, or maybe they thought no one would care about his sordid past, and limited intellect.
Turns out they almost got away with it.
Today Warnock is going to keep his seat in the SENATE.
Maybe Walker will claim he seat in the House was stolen.

How is he getting 47%? I guess we know the disrespect for government fostered by the rage-farming Republicans has brought us to this absurd and dangerous place. Reagan, Dubya, Trump should have been laughed off the stage. Jesse Ventura and Arnold, too, for that matter. And so we have Empty Green and Gaetz and Boebert and doubtless scores of other merely unqualified fools in public office. I wish I saw a way back to a sane place.
On Edit: (After a very good cup of coffee, when I feel less despair) First we fix Citizens United, and if we have to scour out the current court before we can do that, well, lets get on that!
FakeNoose
(32,628 posts)That's how he has 47%, but it's still not enough. Walker will lose this and well he should lose. He's completely unqualified to be a US Senator, or any other elected office.
By the way, this is Chump's fault, of course. The Georgia Repukes could probably have found a better candidate on their own if Chump had stayed out of it.

(2,293 posts)Yes. So hard to fathom those who see Walker as more Christian than the Rev. Warnock. Heard a couple say so on NPR this morning.

Doesn't matter if it's the guy they were raised to obey that they see every Sunday (and sometimes Wednesday) or the guy they see on Fox News. Though a bit more complex as it actually involves the approval of their entire subculture and concepts like supremacy, in many regards part of their life has regressed to a child-like state where they simply do what they're told.

So easy to make fun of him. Do we enjoy making fun of mentally retarded people? People mentally limited by brain damage?

(7,411 posts)When I see this race, I automatically understand that had the GOP just put up a run-of-the-mill candidate then they would have beat Warnock in November. That someone so drastically unqualified as Walker could even take this to a runoff says some sobering things about Georgia.
And Georgia might be the most purple state in the old Confederacy. Look just over the state line at Alabama where a similar message emerged in 2017. Democrat Doug Jones, a highly accomplished attorney, almost lost to hard-right demagogue Roy Moore even after the GOP candidate and twice-suspended jurist was revealed to have squired underage women in his adult life. Jones got 50.0 percent of the vote compared to Moore's 48.3 percent.
While some chose to spin the Jones win as hopeful, the close finish was actually testimony to how polarized and bleak the Alabama political landscape was. Incumbent Jones was resoundingly defeated by former football coach Tommy Tuberville in the 2020 race.

The Republican party has no heart, just like their Orange completely amoral Con man, liar and a cheat. They should hang their heads for this awful stunt making a mockery out of him.
What's worse is, imagine if he actually got elected ?
