2. I thought for sure the Sandy Hook massacre of children would be the turning point

toward strict, rational gun control.

Then the gun crazies said, out loud and in public, that they didn't care how many kids got killed as long as they get to keep their guns.

And I remembered that I live in the United States...

4. I always thought it would have been good for Obama to put a moratorium on sales of assault rifles

after Sandy hook, at least until after Christmas. He could have appealed to the moms, saying that he knew that there would be guys spending the families' Christmas savings to buy guns like were used in the murders. The wife of every gun nut would have loved him for it.

9. What a wonderful man we now have as our President.

We need to take on renewing the assault weapons ban in perpetuity - no deadline for it to expire - make it failsafe. Put the sellers out of business and/or in jail.

The images of those little children will stay with me forever. I cannot imagine how a parent gets through something like that. I despise anyone who thinks they have to own a mass killing machine.

I have a little granddaughter and I'd throw myself under a bus or in front of a bullet to save her. I'm an old lady and I've had my day in the sun. These children didn't even have a chance to grow up.

CA, MD, and several other state level bans appear to be in danger of being overturned based on Thomas and the impossible scrutiny standard he built into Bruen. I don't think many here really understand what Thomas did, and how drastically the courts will likely be forced against gun safety in upcoming years.
