It's significant in that it brings a time of healing.
How appropriate for us today!
According to the teachings of the 13 Grandmother Moons and the Ontario Native Literacy Coalition, during this time, we receive a vision of the spirits. We also are blessed with good health so we may walk the Red Road with the purest intentions so that we may share this most positive energy with our families and friends for the good of all.
I love this! We've earned it.
Some beautiful photos shared by fellow DUers tonight.

(7,812 posts)Glacier Point, during a full moon. There were no clouds, and the full moon lit up the snow and gorgeous Yosemite like it was daytime.

(9,786 posts)Glacier Point Road closed early for repairs this year. Closed for winter now.
Looking forward next year to revisiting Sentinel Dome, on the road to Glacier Point and the nearby Taft Point, with the new camera gear.
Don't forget, the photographer gets there first! (this is not me. Heavens no.)

(7,812 posts)winter, reached by guided cross country ski travel. Road was closed and it was either 8 miles in and back or 8 miles total, don't remember. We intentionally scheduled for full moon weekend.
There were a couple of dozen people on the trip, bunked at the gift shop converted to beds in the winter. The five in our group dragged our mattresses out of the building to the edge of the canyon. Recommended.

(16,197 posts)I have every months moon name on my calendar to reflect Native Americans names. Snow moon, Planting Moon, etc. just my way of thinking how they kept time n their celebrations of the seasons.

(25,288 posts)Since the moon and Mars move at different rates, how close it appears depends on what time you looked up.
