The dynamics were such that the President DID try but wasnt able to get them both home at the same time. But ol Micah Parsons just couldnt avoid taking a smack at President Biden.
Go suck a rock, Micah. And dont bother trying to convince me youre not a trump supporter, either. Youre doing exactly what a trump supporter would do: crap on the guy who beat trump in 2020, no matter what good the guy who beat trump in 2020 did and continues to do.
And furthermore, I can believe what Biden says, when he asserts he wont stop working for Whalens release. Because Bidens an honest man to begin with. I couldnt believe any comment from the guy Biden beat in 2020, no matter what that other guy said in the past, or says now. And frankly, Micah, neither could you.

(4,616 posts)Crazy to him the the President wouldn't bring him home too. Cause yeah, it was Biden's decision who got released from A RUSSIAN PRISION and who didn't. But hey, flaunt your stupidity for the whole world to see. Maybe Herschel can come over and the two of them can have deep intellectual conversation about Werewolves and Vampires and why Biden hasn't nominated any for the Federal Court vacancies! !

As a fellow PoC , I find this entitled clown's 'I don't like either one' stance to be offensive as fuck.

(52,524 posts)but his outburst just shows a contradiction. It just seems that the job of soldiering is a selfless one and that his or her aim is to protect all of us. Hence, selflessness. Which is why we are always beholding to them. So it just seems odd that he would put down an American citizen's freedom because his military buddies come first.
I guess it makes sense that tribalism is necessary in the military, but the transition to civilian life should bring them an awareness of who they were fighting for.

(23,002 posts)more for ME than President Obama.

(18,748 posts)Obama was a particularly big deal for me.
He's the first POTUS I can directly relate to.He's the first from my generation. He seems like a guy I'd see at the water cooler.., just another Engineer, MD or PhD in the break room.
His communication skills were the best, possibly EVER for the office.
I ALWAYS went to sleep at night 100% confident that ANYTHING that occurred would be taken care of. He gave me a sense of well being and that all will be ok.
He ALSO led an economic comeback, in fact, worse than the pandemic recession.
I could go on and on, obviously...
And I appreciate your opinion!

(54,686 posts)He was also in a sub gen of the Boomers, Generation Jones, ie. the youngest ones, so not a core Boomer.
Same for me with Millennials. I am technically a Millennial by 2 and a half months or so (I was born fairly late 1996), but also a Zillennial, a sub gen (born 1992/3 to 1998).
I relate to the youngest Millennials and a couple years into Gen Z more than I do someone born, say 1981 to 1986. That works going the other way too, as starting around the birth years 2000 or so, I deffo feel a disconnect starting to grow.
ALL of the above are generalisations, of course, as individuals can and do vary.
I am not even a typical 1996 born, as I skipped multiple grades in school, so the core school classmate friends I have are 1992 (even a few 1991) to 1994, 1995-borns.
2001, 2002 born and onward Gen Zers (especially American ones) too often have an anti-Millennial bias now, and lump us all together. The oldest Millennials often tend to look at me as a Gen Zer, so also some occasional antagonism. I think a lot of it all is spun up, manipulated bullshit to divide us, but it does exist. Reddit can be a wee nightmare in some of the Gens subs.
I also have to add that much of all this is mostly online, not as much in real life, at least for me.
WarGamer
(18,748 posts)But I think there's quite a bit to it and I've read that people on the fringes of their generation frequently have a harder time in life.
I'm literally sitting on the dividing line of Boomer/Gen X.
What does that mean?
It means that my High School got a Computer Lab the year AFTER I graduated. It means that my parents, teachers and such folks were all "Greatest Gen" folks... although... my Mother is also a Boomer.
I feel like I was born BETWEEN two social, cultural and technological movements.
I remember being quite young and asking my mom for change to buy a Coke from the machine.
I clearly remember you'd swing open the Coke machine door and grab the bottle by the rough serrated cap and pull. As the bottle slid out, the sound of the painted bottle sliding against the galvanized steel arm was memorable.
And then I was first in line for a cell phone, even had one installed in my car with cord!
I watched the moon landing in between Warner Bros cartoons, watched the opening night of Star Wars and watched the Mars lander last week...
I feel like MY sub-gen was sorta thrown into a technological, cultural and social blender and advised to "hold on"
My son, who's around 30 now was practically born with a phone and computer in his hand. He "fits" into modern day life.
I had to adapt to it.

(54,686 posts)He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in 1994. He took military leave from Kelly Services to serve with the Marine Corps Reserve from 2003 to 2008, including service in Iraq. He held the rank of staff sergeant with Marine Air Control Group 38 working as an administrative clerk and administrative chief, and he was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
After a court-martial conviction in January 2008 on multiple counts "related to larceny", he was sentenced to 60 days restriction, reduction to pay grade E-4, and a bad conduct discharge. The specific charges against him included "attempted larceny, three specifications of dereliction of duty, making a false official statement, wrongfully using anothers social security number, and ten specifications of making and uttering checks without having sufficient funds in his account for payment."
When arrested in Russia, Whelan was director of global security and investigations for BorgWarner, an international automotive parts manufacturer based in Michigan. His work with Kelly Services and BorgWarner gave Whelan contacts with law enforcement in many countries.

(55,334 posts)He's Canadian, British, Irish, and American, according to his collection of passports.
He's almost certainly in the private sector espionage game. That requires a person of flexible ethics as well as physical courage. He's been studying and working as a Russian linguist for many years, but still uses Google translate to write his Russian messages.
There are a lot of people out there like that, making a living.

(2,962 posts)Gen X and younger have lots of Trump supporters.
I was born in late 1953.
My siblings were different.
They had Elvis and I had the Monkee's.
This guy sounds like a Trump supporter.
Glad Brittney is safe.
