are driven to find a way to disrupt or destroy it?
Is there a well-manicured lawn with beautiful beds of flowers? Drive across it at night after a soaking rain, cutting deep ruts and flattening the blooms.
Is there a very successful new business with a new product making great profits for its owner? Start totally false rumors that the product has caused serious illness and deaths.
Is there an attractive successful couple that is liked and respected in the community? Post anonymous "if you really knew them" posts on the local discussion board mentioning drug abuse, affairs and pedophilia.
And, I suppose, if millions of us are breathing happy sighs of relief as we celebrate recent election results, some are compelled to be the mouse floating in the punch bowl.

Why would you want to hurt the people closest to you, the people you love?
I guess misery loves company.
