Twitter is doing SO GREAT financially: Musk is selling their refrigerators and office-chairs.

https://www.rawstory.com/elon-musk-twitter-2658947050/

Twitter is reportedly preparing to offload some of its memorabilia and social media users may have the opportunity to purchase interesting pieces currently housed at the network's headquarters.

...

Starting bid prices will range from $25 and $50 on all listed items. Insider also reports that some of the items "include tons of industrial kitchen equipment, including refrigerators and pizza ovens, dozens of display screens, iMac monitors, and gray swivel office chairs."

...

Per the news outlet, Musk is working to "cut everything from infrastructure budgets, employee perks like at-home Wi-Fi and travel allowances, and holiday pay for contractors."

Smart move. Who needs chairs if you don't even have employees?

...& wondering if Eloon (or Elmo as many folks call him) is doing it on purpose, to cripple Twitter, to "punish" the company for what he perceives as crimes of "election interference" & "silencing conservative voices."

Logically that makes no sense after he paid so much for it, but Eloon has been doing nonsensical things for a while now, & he seems to be getting worse.

IMHO he's not mentally stable.

He voluntarily bought an already overvalued company for an inflated price.
He voluntarily borrowed against his own assets to cover 25% of the transaction.
BKO requires the judge & trustee to approve of each step and I think he'll find it difficult to find a judge who would allow him to stiff creditors, given his resources, because he bought the company knowing he was paying too much for a barely profitable company.
I can't imagine his lawyers haven't told him that bankruptcy is an unfriendly route right now.
But, we agree that bankruptcy is not coming any time soon.

So many offices have shut down or downsized in the last three years that the secondhand market for office equipment is swamped with inventory & there are few buyers.

In my opinion he's showing a lot about how he thinks, and it's reminiscent of Trump. Despite the grandiose vaporware he sells to investors, when it comes down to the actual nuts and bolts of running companies he thinks revealingly small. It's also interesting that he seems to be intentionally showing what would otherwise be a perceived weakness that the company is doing so poorly it has to sell off fixtures. This as I said could be intentional, as set-up for closing the San Francisco headquarters of Twitter. Or he may still be intent on shutting it down completely or selling it off to right wingers at a fraction of what he paid, or having Twitter declare bankruptcy a la Trump.

Apparently they forgot to tell King Elon that San Francisco is a tech hub and his employees DO have options for when they’ve finally had enough of his shit.

I can imagine the interviews:

“Ms. Jones…may I call you Ellen?”
“That would be fine.”
“Ellen, normally at this point in the interview we ask you why you’re seeking new employment. However, your resume states you’re a current Twitter employee, so we can skip over that part.”
