People post camera pics on social media

It comes in handy for identifying someone actually caught in the act, but I see pictures of someone just by a house or other property, and the poster says they did something. Many times, it is a shared post, and not connected to the person I know. It is hard for me to take the word of someone I don't know accusing someone else I don't know of wrongdoing. How do I know the o.p. is not being spiteful? I will look at the post, but I usually don't pass it along unless I know the person who posted it. And if it is a picture of property that has been stolen, but not the thief, I'll probably share it. It's a puzzle.
