I can't help but believe that this is just a ploy for attention, and that he'll announce some lame, stupid thing. Like a New Year's Eve shindig at Merde a Lardo. Or, another frivolous lawsuit.

Of course, he could be releasing kompromat on one or more of his enemies, since he likes to collect it.

39. Trump despises Nancy Pelosi for

being a successful woman and for standing up to him as well as leading the House to impeach him twice.

Trump despised Obama for being Black and President, and for ridiculing him at the Correspondents' dinner over the birther BS. So he retaliated by running for President and trying (but not succeeding) to undo everything that Obama achieved.

So I think that Trump wants to follow Nancy as Speaker. That's his style and MO. He doesn't know squat about the position and won't want to be in DC at the Capitol as often as the job would require, so he'd seek the job in name only. M. Traitor Greene will want to do the actual job.

I hope that I'm wrong or that he wouldn't get the votes necessary. But I've a hunch that this is his big announcement. If he got the position, he would use it to politicize the coming indictments and to claim that a Speaker can't be indicted.

He might also think that, as Speaker and second in line to the WH, Republicans could impeach Joe and Kamala and make him President. Of course the Senate would not convict Joe or Kamala, but Trump could wreak havoc as Speaker, so I suspect that he really, really wants that job.
