3. Donald Trump's Cringe NFT Collection Sells Out, Raising $4.45M - CNET

What can anyone say? I can't speak to the reliability of CNET.

From CNET

Trump's "major announcement" of an NFT collection featuring himself was widely derided. But all 45,000 pieces sold in 12 hours.

Earlier in the week, Donald Trump teased a "major announcement" on Truth Social, the platform he took to after being banned from Twitter last year. Some speculated Trump would be announcing his running mate for the 2024 presidential election, or some other key detail for his campaign. The news turned out to be a disappointment even to some of Trump's supporters: A Trump-themed NFT collection.

"My official Donald Trump Digital Trading Card collection is here!" he posted on Thursday. Trump never used the abbreviation "NFT" in the post, but that's indeed what the "digital trading cards" are: 45,000 NFTs on the Polygon blockchain, priced at $99 each.

Though the NFTs were widely mocked by both Trump supporters and detractors alike, all 45,000 sold out in around 12 hours, according to OpenSea data. At $99 each, that means $4.45 million has been raised. The collection's creators also recieve 10% of every sale on secondary markets like OpenSea. Thus far traders have spent $406,000 (320 ether) buying and selling the NFTs on OpenSea. Who that money goes to and how it's used remains a mystery.

Same reason why GOP and Scientology books are always bestsellers. They buy their own stuff, then resell them to their followers or use them as freebies. Tale as old as time.

the RNC bought $300,000 worth of Don Jr. book..and a Trump super Pac purchased enough books in bulk to raise Jared's book to #1 on the NYT best sellers list, but I'm not so sure about digital trading cards...I suspect the appeal would be more towards a younger demographic than someone willing to empty his retirement account for an opportunity to break bread with his orange god..

Because Republican PAC's/organizations/groups by them in bulk to artificially inflate his books sold numbers. These outfits then include the books they bought in raffles, giveaways, contests, sweepstakes, what have you. And it's not just his books, all MAGA books and merchandise is treated this same way.

Undoubtedly Trump cards too.

45,000 isn't that many considering there's 332 million people living in this country.

So do Scientology books. Because those orgs buy them and give them out as freebies, to save face, etc.

So yes, I beleive they sold that much... mainly to themselves and orgs like FOTF, Heritage, etc.
