That's why Mother's Boy doesn't believe Trump should be prosecuted for anything.
I'll let that sink in for a few seconds.
This is the "man" that came within 40 feet of a Trump-incited traitorous mob intent on assassinating him. THAT ALONE is enough to make his mewling Casper Milquetoast demeanor when asked about Trump utterly disgusting. But, "Bobblehead Mikey" went above and beyond that.
Donald Trump doesn't "take" advice from attorneys. He DICTATES what he wants them to advise him to do and, so far, there have always been
whores with law licenses who were willing to play along.
The "advice" Trump "took" from his "lawyers" was, as always, simply what he wanted to do---period.
And, Mother's Boy knows that, which is why he easily qualifies as a lying sonofabitch.

Enough of the excuses as to why Trump should not be prosecuted. I dont care if he has a sucky Christmas or if his lawyers are idiots.
FWIW Trump had plenty of good legal advice he just refused to listen to.

(32,277 posts)I never watch cable news except for Nicolle Wallace but I did watch msnbc for a little bit after the J6 presentation and I heard Andrea Mitchell say that Mark Meadows probably didn't relay messages to Trump about how dangerous J6 could be. I immediately turned off the TV.

I agree with you that he isn't just taking lawyers advice, he is dictating it.
But I think it goes farther than that. He is shopping for lawyers that tell him what he wants to hear. He bypassed the thousands of lawyers in DC to land on little known John Eastman teaching law at Chapman University. It wasn't because he was a good lawyer. It was because he was championing exactly the position that Trump wanted. The rest is history.

(18,495 posts)But refraining from blaming The Orange Fuhrer for January 6. If he can cast the blame on someone else - like say tRump's lawyers. Then Pence does not run the risk of pointing the finger of blame at tRump - which would likely piss off the Fuhrer/Messiah's base. If Pence has presidential aspirations he needs the Rethug Fascist base to get elected.
This way Pence thinks this boosts his own chance of being a viable presidential candidate come 2024.
Once a blindly loyal weasel, twice a blindly loyal weasel, always a blindly loyal weasel. Pence is not presidential timber,.. but he would make a nice muskrat and/or weasel.

(3,120 posts)Where I come from, there are certain things you just don't forgive.
Mitch McConnell showing no support for Trump's insult to his wife.
Ted Cruz supporting Trump after Trump insults to his wife and accusations against his father.
Prescott Bush (yes, the son of Jeb) kissing Trump's ass after he insulted Prescott's Father and Mother.
Rand Paul, Rubio, Graham. I don't get it. I thought politicians were thin skinned, but this is not normal behavior.
And I guess the real big one is having a guy you bent over backwards to support for 5 years, instigating and encouraging your death by hanging and putting your entire family at risk. I figure that's a red line.
But as my reply title indicates, I just don't get it.

(3,120 posts)After all, that's what drives politicians, for good or ill reasons.
You can't affect change without holding office.
But I've been involved in dozens of campaigns, at all levels. And when the election is over, the candidates often "mend their fences" after a bitter campaign. But family members never forgive. Spouses, parents and children will often hold grudges for years.
But publicly denigrated a candidate's spouse or parents or children is, more often than not, unforgivable. Support for Donald Trump is not the norm. It's an aberration.
He's a buffoon con man who never built real political capital and yet the Republican Party treats him in a way that I've seen no other politician treated before.

The gentlemans rules, unwritten, for transfer of power in example, were made vulnerable by evil people seizing the day and pussies and social media, old media, most any pussy media
with consent..both benefited mightily!
The old media is still being pussies about the obvious rampant fascism and anti-intellectualism. Its madness.

(7,334 posts)It's all about the desire for power. This criminally oriented RethuQlican political party encourages such scummy people to join it. All they care about is their own personal gain of power, prestige and $$$$$$$$$.
They will do ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING to gain this power for themselves, and the hell with the rest of humanity.
And I mean ANYTHING: illegal, immoral, unethical, against the 10 Commandments, the advice of The Buddha or Zoroaster, in violation of the Torah or Koran or Robert's Rules of Order, or despite the public disapproval of The Pope, Kimmel or Colbert or George Takei.

(12,529 posts)That's all these grown men and women have while stepping away from accountability:
It was someone else's fault. It was bad legal advice. Hillary or Hunter Biden made me do it, yada, yada.
Or, even better? It never happened.
One of the comments that has stayed with me came from Mark Meadows. The J6 Committee and the press were hot and heavy discussing Meadows' neck-deep involvement in Trump's paranoid Stop the Steal operation and plan. And Meadows' reaction?
It's so unfair.
A grown man, Chief of Staff to the President of the United States, involved in a unlawful, violent attack on the the US Government and he acts and sounds like a petulant child, a middle-school student caught cheating on a test or stealing lunch money.
It's incredible how twisted the logic, how perverted the reasoning.
And then Pence has the gall to talk about the 'taint of partisanship/bias' on MSNBC. And he says it on Fox News without a trace of irony.
None of these Republicans should ever, ever be permitted to serve in any governmental position again. And many deserve prison time!
Pence knew what was going on, yet did nothing to prevent or warn. After hemming and hawing, he did the right thing, fulfilled his legal obligation to the country by certifying a legitimate election.
How heroic!
