1. As of right now, China is claiming a total of only 386,276 cases of Covid, with only 5,242 deaths.

Probably several hundred times below the actual figures.
I don't think they ever reported the actual situation in their country.

according g to Worldometers. I check them out every other day. Japan is really high again. China lies about their numbers as much as FL does. I don't trust either leader (Deathsantis in FL).

5. People are still dying from COVID ?

I thought the variants were weaker then the first COVID?. Seems like lots of people around me have COVID but I know of no deaths. I have never had COVID or any of the variants. Knock on wood .

6. According to epidemiologists discussing the China situation

Omicron is actually NOT weaker, there is just more built in immunity (prior infections and vaccinations) in the USA and other nations. China has a low uptake in vaccines, especially in its most vulnerable population. So that vulnerable population is subject to death when they have no immunity.

Our household has had all the vaccines and boosters, so when we caught it it was a mixed bag. My daughter and husband got sick for a couple of days/the equivalent of a mild flu or bad cold. I never caught it at all.
