(90,796 posts)One exception: the calamitous weather over Christmas weekend.
MAYBE a little on Congress if it votes on that omnibus bill with the election protections in it.
But Im guessing the ramifications of the January 6th report constitute THE story to end the week and dominate the weekend. Shit - the sidebars from this: getting to know more about th guy who apparently masterminded the Big Lie strategy. If indeed thats for real. And the react from the various sides and interest groups.
Sheesh - this story has more tentacles than a Siamese twin octopus. I keep wondering if the next big breaking news, as the noose tightens around Orangemans neck, is - where is he? Suddenly nobody can find him. Whered he go, and to which foreign government or rogue power collective maybe? He knows hes in trouble, just as were learning he knew hed lost the election. So what does a cornered rat do? What does THIS cornered rat do?

(258,842 posts)As long as we aren't just getting our hopes up as we did with the anticipated Mueller Report. But from what we're hearing, the J6 Committee did a stellar job and this is clearly the story of the week, month and what we've been waiting for since even before January 6th. And we're just hearing about the headlines, there's obviously a lot more to be revealed.
As for TFG, you're right - he's still on the loose, despite DOJ and Jack Smith, the J6 Report and pending charges in both Georgia and New York. And with the Committee soon to be out of the headlines, we can only hope that the investigation moves forward before the Republicans gain control of the House since many of them face J6 charges, too. *fingers crossed*

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
