Santos registered to vote in 2 states in same year

Interesting; he was diligent about establishing a voting record.

GEORGE SANTOS MOVED TO FLORIDA IN 2016, VOTED THERE, THEN QUICKLY REGISTERED AGAIN IN NEW YORK

…registered to vote in two states in 2016, according to public records, albeit with the second registration coming after Election Day.

February 9: Santos registers to vote in Florida
November 8, Election Day: Santos votes in Florida
November 14: Santos registers to vote in New York

George Santos, who won his election in November against a Democrat in one of the four New York congressional districts flipped by Republicans, left his home in New York, voted in Florida some nine months later, and was registered back in New York days later, according to public records.

Gonna go after a lot of people if that’s the standard for election fraud.

both the article writer and I were careful to point that out. That is why we wrote the word "registered" and not "vote." But thank you for mentioning it because sometimes people gloss over posts.

As I mentioned in my OP, the remarkable part of this is that he was so diligent about registering to vote in Florida. Unless there was a deadline, why was this one of the first things he did?

This is the point that might lead us to what is going on in his head.

Here are the FL registration deadlines from vote.gov:

Voter registration deadlines in Florida
Online registration deadline: Tuesday, October 11, 2022
Register by mail deadline: Must be postmarked by Tuesday, October 11, 2022
In person registration deadline: Tuesday, October 11, 2022

He registered to vote on February 9 in Florida. He had a little over 7 months to register before the deadline. Why was this so important that he would register immediately?

The general election deadline in NY is mid-October, so that one makes a little sense (see link below). But was he cognizant of the fact that one can vote in only one state?

https://www.elections.ny.gov/VotingDeadlines.html

There's something here--it's a piece of the puzzle. I'm just not sure where it fits.

These are questions for reporters to consider during his "explanation" next week. Some DU-ers are good analysts, so it will be interesting to hear what others have to say, if anything.

Got a package from the post office encouraging registration. Got asked when I went to get a new drivers license. Come back when there’s something more than “ why would someone register to vote months before an election!!!!!!”

many people are not as organized and prompt as you.

Just a quick look at the percentage of people who vote will tell you that.

We need to look outside ourselves and consider that there are other patterns of behavior.

Rather than insinuating that registering to vote when you move is somehow suspicious.

I don't believe that's what my post says. For whatever reason, you are reading that into it.

It is the promptness that I am questioning. Have you ever moved? I have, and it is tough to get everything done after a relocation.

It's even harder when you leave a trail of unpaid rent bills in your former state.

At any rate, I am merely saying it is something to consider, not something that is an absolute. Nothing to get your shorts in a wad over.

Deep breathing might help. You're welcome.

There must be a way to disqualify him from office. He's using an assumed name, what does his passport say?
He ran fake grifting fundraisers even before he declared his candidacy.
His taxes must be skeevy - no income for over a year?
Come on New York, do some investigating.

I think there will be all kinds of ways disqualify him. Did you see my other post about how the republicans were aware he was a con artist and that they did not exactly support him with lots of $$.

That's it. No one is questioning that he's over 25. No one is questioning that he lived in New York at the time he was elected. And while I've seen some unsubstantiated speculation that he was born in Brazil and never became a citizen, the investigative reporters that uncovered his lies make no such claim.
