Abbott measures everything by political expediency. If sending a busload of border-crossers up north to freeze to death gets him votes, he'll do it eagerly and without a moment's hesitation. And, of course, he'll do it with a majority of Texans cheering him on and loving him for doing it.

(And yes I know, Texas, I know that millions of you voted to fire the bastard. But numbers show you are in the minority. We just found out that our local Sheriffs office found a 35 year old man dead in an abandoned barn last night.

I’m sure he was homeless and frozen to death. I wish we found him sooner.

The stories of kindness towards strangers that have come out of Buffalo demonstrate the quality of people that live there. Sha'Kyra's graciousness and the articles about the family that took in nine South Korean tourists and their driver are reason to be thankful for the everyday residents that should make their city proud. All US citizens should be proud of them as well.
